Can someone explain to me why old Zac ult is coming back?

I saw a video of latest PBE cycle where Zac's ult is rewerted to his pre-reworked state, and that quite baffled me. I heard and saw that there are some complains and cries of "Zac mains" spreaded out through League Boards and reddit pages, but it still makes no sence for me other than a nostalgia. And goofiness of old ult.

To be quite frank, I never really was a competitive player outside of normals with my time spend mostly on Howling Abyss, but I played old Zac at least several times and new Zac is my go to jungler if I get filled into the role. And I appreciate his current ult more, especially that in my opinion it have almost everything that the old one did and more, maybe except the damage, but I always build him tank, so I don't care.

Old Let's Bounce! gives him bonus MS and makes him bounce around several times, dealing damage and knocking back enemies (additional hits on same target doesn't knock back and deal less damage). New Let's Bounce makes him untargetable and creates a zone that has two uses depends on how long Zac charges. If you just tap it or hold it lesser than a second you knockback them, dealing damage as well, which is the first instance of old Zac ult. Charge it up to 2.5 seconds and you can carry enemies who stand on top of you a target distance, which is useful for combos after E and Q and wombo combos of other team members. You literally have a one bounce of old ult or a Ryze's Realm Warp against enemies if you set it up properly. It serves more purposes and still requires precision of landing your E and/or Q to perform it.

Or maybe old ult was just easier, just get in and click.

Not to mention that Zac's kit has way better synergy with the new ult...

The issue is not that the new ult isn't fun or isn't good, it's that the new ult is way too powerful. Zac already has the longest range engage in the game that makes him unique. The new ult gave him the ability to not only engage fights from fog of war, but to also bring the fight back to his own teammates. This is an immense amount of power that no other champ is close to having. As a result they had to reduce Zac's combat ability dramatically to make him balanced. The ult revert is not only giving him more damage on his ult, but it's also accompanied with a buff to his w. I suspect they will be giving him more buffs as well as he will still have a weaker w than pre-rework.

I also liked the old ult because it gave him more to do during the fight (which oddly enough is one of the things they said they were trying to solve with the rework). Also the old ult synergized with his passive and w, so if you were able to pick up blobs while still hitting people with your ult, you could cast w several times during the ult doing more damage and producing more blobs.

because people enjoyed the chaos from the first ult over the insane power of the current ult

The old one is less team reliant and not gated by team play or enemies messing up.

You just press R to bounceand dmg people instead of press R and hopefully set up a fight and if not hope you can fling to safety and not get CC'd.

They want to add more ap damage to him generally. This ult deals more damage than old ult and for evey 100 ap w maxhealth damage is increased by 2%

New one is too good when he is good.
