PSA: Disconnecting as a joke isn't funny

I just played a ranked game as Orianna that was pretty even, maybe a bit in our favor because we had their top inhibitor. However, our Lucian was taking blue when I decided to steal it as kind of a joke. And then he instantly disconnected. After that the enemy team rushed mid and took out inhibitor tower, inhibitor, and a nexus turret. We could've won that team fight, but our ADC wasn't present. He reconnected after that, but it was no use. They had won.

Guys, even though I took blue, I didn't take two towers and an inhibitor. Even if its just as a little joke, don't disconnect. You're leaving your team to die.

Boy do I love being in Bronze. "Elo Hell isn't real! Its easy to get out of Bronze!"

It really isnt dude, you control your own games, if you are good enough you will get out. I too had the same mindset after my 700 games in bronze. Just, be better. Silver is the exact fucking same.

The problem with this theory is the fact that if you are a silver player stuck in bronze, the skill difference is minuscule. So it could tkae you all season and you still won't make it out. Yes if you are a silver skilled player EVENTUALLY you will, but that doesn't make it a valid argument. ELO Hell is just the part you are stuck in when you are slightly better then that but not so slight that you can get out easy. Then throw in the millions of smurfs which negatively impact the actual MMR and yea, the stars can align.

Silver 3 and up is quite different from Bronze.

Silver 4 and 5 look the exact same as Bronze 2 and 1. I've never been in Bronze, but I've seen my friends climb out of Bronze 5 and the same things they dealt with are the same things I've seen when I was Silver 4. It only took them about 100 games doing it all on their own as a player that finished in Silver 5 last year, so if you truly don't belong in Bronze, you'll get out, or else nobody would.

My question is, if you believe so strongly in ELO hell, why mess around? I don't give any reason for my teammates to feel provoked by me. In ranked, almost everyone is a little on edge, and if they aren't they're most likely a troll. Stealing that blue was just plain stupid, and them leaving was even more stupid. Pal around in normals, don't do it in a competitive setting with low ELO strangers or you get what you're asking for.

I've seen teams so clearly ahead in ranked clear a surrender vote because people thought it was so funny to just vote yes. Don't do crap like that. The people you're messing around with in Bronze are likely teenagers that have been in Bronze for years, and won't be getting out anytime soon because they don't care.

Be the funny guy in normals, not in ranked.

I was a mage and he was an ADC.
It was just blue buff 30 minutes into the game. Late game the color buffs don't do much.
His decision to disconnect led to us losing. I had no way to know he would overreact.
