BUT

I am ALWAYS the person on my team to encourage others, i don't bash bad play, i am nice to people

but I try to be this guardian on a team, sometimes games go great and everybody is friendly. other games, I play bad. instead of getting any encouragement. its "WOW you suck" "report ---- he is trash" they have the dam nerv to say this to me after i am the person to try and keep peace on the team. I lose it on people that do this. and this is when i become toxic.

The best way to avoid toxic idiots is to play during school hours or very late at night.

I don't know where you live but for people like me who spend most of the night awake anyway and sleep during the day (I work graveyard shifts part time) I honestly don't have to put up with nearly as much toxicity as most people say they experience. There was a thread a few days ago that would recommend anyone that was able to play during school hours (or when it's too late for most school-aged players to be awake like me) to go for it and you would see an immense difference in players.

Are we completely free of idiots? No, we aren't, you will occasionally find an idiot. But I can assure you that playing during school hours or whenever most kids can't will make your experience with this game a whole lot better. People during these hours are a lot more cooperative (or at least not idiots that will blame others for their own blunders) and generally more friendly.

I never swear at people in game or call them bad exactly, I'll only give advice on specific points - like go in when I stun, or things like that. I hardly ever even give advice, maybe 1/10 games.

People will rage hard for the entire game (unprovoked) and you give them a legitimate response as to why they are getting mad for no reason, and they will try to say you're toxic.

I've noticed the people who actually use the word toxic are usually the most toxic in the game. I was Leona Support and our Lee sin was dying all the time. I came in and saved him several times by stunning the enemy when they were about to finish him - and he doesn't even try to run away and he dies anyways, and then says 'report Leona' and 'Leona makes me feed' those type of comments all game. This kinda bs happened all game and the only thing I ever said the entire game was 'I stunned so you could run away, don't keep attacking at 20 hp" and at the end of game 2 people said 'report Leona toxic'. They were 2 of the most toxic and unrealistic players I have ever seen..

I've had tons of games with great players, but players like this also make me want to quit playing altogether. I've played tons of online games and never had the kind of behavior/attitude of players before. The extreme amount of blame (away from themselves) is one of the worst parts. No one ever takes blame when it's their fault, even if I did everything possible to help them.

I don't know what it is but ever since May I've had a huge increase in toxic/raging players... I won't say it's kids but a lot of people have more freetime in the summer.

the game is a nice game just the community inspires exactly as you said. im addicted to the game so instead i hope cancer takes me.

The game is just fine. There are just quite many tards playing it, which is the problem.

your lucky your chat hasn't been restricted like mine because i told a twelve year old butthurt to stop feeding , because he would charge 3vs1 . I'm never giving my money to this company , majority of players are virign geeks who get picked on in life so they come in LOL to unleash their frustrations and RIOT knows this but they don't care because they are being run by business men . you and i leave won't stop them from making money . this is the worst community. the only way they can fix this is by matching games based on age.

I'd suggest either playing at different times, like Protean Wings suggested, or playing with friends.

I mean, sure, you could go and uninstall, if you just don't want to try it anymore. If you wanted to keep playing, though, you do have options.

You just described almost every game community ever... In the forums or videos everyone is really nice, then you get into the actual game and you are wishing every single one of them would have a heart attack right now. One of the only differences between those games and leeg is that you are stuck with these people for at least 20 min, but 99% of the time those trolls refuse to surrender so its more like 45min.

The problem is, this game really is just really rage-inducing.

I'm normally a very calm and nice guy but there was one time even I raged hard. Imagine you're playing a ranked game and you're crazy far ahead. I don't remember the exact numbers but we had over twice as many kills, we had more cs, and we had the baron buff. Other team doesn't stand a chance, right? But my team just would not take objectives. It was so annoying that we never got anything since we were so far ahead. But this is what really got me. They wouldn't fight. That's right, we're so far ahead that we could probably just walk up to enemies and completely destroy them but I walk up to an enemy and my whole team just runs away. They wouldn't even attempt to fight even though if we fought, it was like a guaranteed win we were so far ahead. This drove me crazy since we could have won the game at like 25 minutes and yet this team played in a way where the game was still going waaaaaaaaaaaaay later and everyone was at full build and then our whole huge advantage was gone. I hated the not fighting earlier so much since it wasted so much time and potentially lost us the game. That's my problem with this game. A wrong move that anyone on your team just made in like a couple seconds can lead to a half hour of torture since you don't like what the game has become with your bad teammates.

thats what the mute button is for. why r you giving trolls your attention. it takes two to tango. if ur stuck with trolls. just practice your csing skills or jungle route until game is over. or if your top lane pratice placing wards and trying to split push and run back when they converge on you. try to make the remaining time useful. (best with champs that have escape like jayce / singe / reksai or tryndamere with ghost. just mind your own business.

I understand your anger, but don't say hateful things to others, and how do I get by with not being toxic myself, there are many things that can be seen as toxic, but many games I find myself matched with toxic multiple times a day if unlucky, I just mute everyone the first time I hear things I do not like no matter how little it maybe then I play the game not caring I don't stop trying to win but I understand there is like a 1% chance to win might as well go for it who cares attitude, but I don't show it in chat.

I am once again running into many toxic players sometimes I am lucky to get a few great games in a day for example first game of the day was great, good players all around we play great together, two games after toxics I just mute everyone did what I could two games in a row were due to champion select toxicity the reason things go bad, players don't talk even when asked what champion they are running no answer so I wait last minute before choosing they go to take my champion I am going to take with no communication then I choose one in a hurry get something not so good then they get toxic in the champion select screen im like you didn't talk, and here comes the hateful stuff (Mute everyone in game continue the game) and lose then even more toxicity at end game.

In general one reason there is so much toxicity no one takes time to think about team comp, they just lock favorite champions if players thought about skills of champions and what would win team fights more as well as actually talked in champion select when someone asks something there would be less toxicity especially during ranked, a lot of times I personally listen to blame from others for their own decisions of fail ganking, playing a certain champion because there was no communication in champion select, and I just toggle the mutes without saying hateful things I can understand when something is my fault or the fault of someone else for example it doesn't matter if I alone am doing great in my lane if the enemy team has a better comp and plays better they will be more likely to win where if your team has even a good champion who knows how to CC well and one good player mid or more than one good player you are more likely to win even if someone does a bit bad which is rare to find it seems.

I don't know really the best solution is to mute everyone, without being toxic yourself, and the most you usually get if reported by a bunch of toxic players over games by the automated system is a chat restriction, and perhaps a few ranked bans, but usually nothing extreme.

do not play too much ranked from 3 PM to 10 PM. That is all.

people rage way to easy . Even here on the boards. If you play and actually try to make some friends in game it gets better. Then you can do premades and not worry about the rage. Most players dont even talk to one another that i come across which is unfortunate

I know how you feel man, but the thing is, you can't fix people with rage. Simply mute them and send your report. Why would a random kid on league change his stupid attitude after some guy raged at him because he's a dumbass? He's going to troll the next game too... and the circle goes on.
