Why is there a mission to lose a co-op match?

Most players won't be able to do that legitimately, and will need to AFK, int, or otherwise assist the enemy team in order to lose to bots. Why is Riot encouraging this behavior? On top of that, I guarantee you some people won't notice the requirement to do it with a premade, and will AFK, int, etc. with random teammates who intended to win (as everyone is supposed to). Call me a stick in the mud, but encouraging this sort of behavior is a bad idea, even as an April Fool's thing.

It's for a joke mission so ofc it's gunna be something stupid

Nobody is gunna be like "This mission told me to lose a bot game, clearly I should just run it down in ranked/norms"

I'd like to narrow down the exact conditions where you believe it's okay to int. Is it because it's bots? Or because the entire team is doing it? Or both?

Because its a bot game... ? Winning makes no difference

Does it make a difference in normals? Or ARAM? Or URF? Riot is encouraging punishable behaviors. Does this mean it's okay to int/etc. in co-op in general? Or only when the rest of the team is okay with it? It sets a very bad precedent.

you need to do it in a group of 5 premades, you'll all know what to do beforehand, nobody's hurt by it because there'll be no other players affected

You could say the same thing about a premade flaming each other and tossing around racial slurs. Right?

It's in a 5-man premade where everyone is agreeing to it against bots who won't care. The difference being they're not hurting any random strangers unless they're dumb and don't read all the guidelines. If they do it to random strangers without asking their consent beforehand (in which at least one person is bound to correct them) then it is punishable because they did not get everyone's consent and are ruining the game for other people.

I want to preface this with this mission was super boring. However, to answer you question they are not. First off you need a premade, all members will go in expecting to lose. Second all you have to do is ff. You can go all the way to the nexus if you'd like destroying these bots and then ff. I just practiced csing.

wait...we could ff???

I spent 30 minutes w/ a premade trying to get bots to kill us

Sure enough, I just had a solo queue co-op lobby where two people announced that they wanted to lose. It took the entire pick timer for the rest of us to convince them that you need a premade to do that mission and that it is possible to queue as a premade for co-op. Fortunately, one of them didn't pick a champion before the timer was up.
