Need some feedback on Diana.

So I was looking for an AP mid laner and Diana became my choice. I lack experience with her so I went to Mobafire/Google to see who counters her. Problem is that all links over there gave me varied replies, the only champion in common among those links was Mordekaiser but nobody plays him.

Any experienced Diana players here that could tell me who counters her? Or at least who I should ban?

My advice is to not ban any of your counters, and play the matchup to learn exactly why they counter you. It's one of the best ways to learn a lot about your champion right away. And often you won't be able to ban your counters in ranked either way ^^.

As for actual counters to her, imo nearly every midlaner pre-6 is really bad for you, so keep that in mind. After 6 some matchups become way easier, mostly assassins are no longer that big of a threat for you, however be careful some mages such as Syndra can still kill you. Negatron helps immensely in these matchups.

If you're up against someone with lots of poke, look for ways to roam or ask your jungler to set up the gank, it can be hard getting to champions such as Ziggs/Xerath/Lux if they play safe.

Easy matchups are imo Zed/TF/Akali, basically they are assassins/casters without enough kill pressure against you (if you play correctly). Against some assassins don't be afraid to put extra points in W if you feel threatened.

Hope this helped!

In my opinion, she mostly has skill match-ups. You need to learn how to survive until level 6, when you can actually trade with your opponent pre-6, and if you can actually go all-in on them after you get your Ultimate.

If not, as an Assassin, you can roam to other lanes and snowball there. Be aware of their Jungler, he will hate you all game long and literally be your shadow.

Don't play too aggressively, most Diana players tend to go 1v5 because of lack of vision. Try to ward as much as you can in general.

The only champs that really counter her are the tanky oddballs that sometimes go mid lane like Morde, Cho, etc. That said, I don't think those champs are worthy of a ban because of how out of the meta they are.

Diana is all about surviving to level 6. Common mistake I see from a lot of Diana players though is playing too passive and getting pushed under tower and poked out. Your best bet against most mage match ups is to push the lane with your auto attacks, harass your lane opponent by landing Q on them through the minions, and popping your W when your opponent tries to trade back. If you push on your opponent most mages will be forced to use their spells to clear the wave rather than using their spells to harass you. However, with a lane pushed you are susceptible to ganks so be sure to ward around level 3 when you are expecting the jungler to gank and play to the side of the lane where you have vision. With assassins its best to keep the lane pretty neutral unless you want to force them under tower so you can roam.

lb can be a pretty bad match her for her but I agree with the person above. don't ban any of them for now so you know how to play her into it if you have too.
