ARSR is...

Mind blowingly boring.

Feel like playing regular old Summoner's Rift THIS EXCITING WEEKEND?!?!

What if I told you that it's possible to queue up for "ARSR"!

Where it's the exact same map and game you've been playing all week, EXCEPT, now here's the fun part.

EXCEPT YOU take a bold roll of the dice, and with that there is a small chance you end up getting a champion you actually feel like farming an entire game of unranked SR with. The alternative, you ask?

Oh, you could just continue to play SR as you were, and actually have a much higher chance of getting a champion you can have fun on/use. The AR mechanic is much more enjoyable on a map where it's just 1 lane and it's a brawl the entire game, like ARAM!

You know Riot... It would've been a lot more fun if you let us play AM game mode. All Middle - and you get to pick your champion.

How unappealing and unsatisfying. I used to look forward to weekend game modes, now I will have to have a life on the weekends, oh well...:p

What do you think about this game mode idea? Better than All Random Summoners Rift? This game mode would take place on the Ascension map, and there would be 5 teams of 2 summoners. Each of the teleport pads from ascension will be one of the teams respawn places and shops, but will not restore health, or mana once you leave the pad area. First of the 5 teams to 50 points wins. 1 kill is worth 1 point, a Double kill is worth 2 points, Triple kill worth 3 points, quadra kill 4 points and so on. Riot has always done 1 team vs 1 team, this would be a great way for Riot to experiment on a 5 team game for the rotating game modes. And it could be the first game mode where someone could get an octa-kill. i ceratinly think it would be more fun that all random summoners rift

I think the real question we all should be asking is how this even got approved as a game mode and mad it to live servers.

I thought as you did last weekend when the mode came out. But then I figured I'd give it a few tries (and my friends liked it) and I came to a realization - the game mode is fun because it helps you break the meta-lock. I was on a team and twitch happened to be the best jungler we got. it sucked (I have never played jungle twitch and their comp was better) but I got to play something in a role I had never tried. In fact, I would never have attempted that in any game. I've played with and against some interesting lanes that feel like they shouldn't work but worked well enough.

In short, this game mode allows mixing up the standard game in a way I had not anticipated. It resulted in a semi-serious, but not really competitive game that mixed things up. For how unoriginal the base idea is, it turned out to be almost as novel as hexakill or one for all.

Riot is trying to phase out everything that isn't a SR clone. ARSR is just a continuation of that philosophy.

My issue with it was that the enemy team ended up with COMPLETELY meta teamcomps both times I tried it, and I was the only one that ended up playing an off role/champion. It felt like I was just playing normals, except I got stuck with a troll pick while everyone else was playing try-hard meta stuff.

The all random on SR idea would have worked better if it was along with some other feature (new or old) so it's not just SR. Like ARURF, AR Blood Moon or maybe some new original game mode. I get that they wanted to experiment, but was 2 weekends of this mode even necessary? One weekend should have been plenty of data to figure if people liked it or not. While it was an experiment, it's still lazy as fuck.

I personally don't mind getting a champ I'm not use to playing. I play ARAM all the time. The problem for me comes when you factor positions into the equation. I don't know about you, but I don't want to risk being placed into a role I don't like & not good at (Jungle) or a role I haven't played in months (ADC) especially with the possibility of getting a champ I don't know or I'm not use too. At least back in the old champ select days or in blind pick, I get to pick my champ. Then there's other players fighting over roles & I don't want to deal with that shit. I was lucky my one game of ARSR I got Trundle & got to go top.

ARSR is...

Lazy.

No doubt it is lazy. But can you honestly say there haven't been weeks at your job where you didn't put out your best work? Sometimes I am at my best, and sometimes I have 5 days until vacation and I just want to get through it and go to the beach.

Still better than URF.

All they had to do was give us the Howling abyss buff, so we globally gain Gold/EXP, and kills are worth less, etc.

At least then it would be an actual weekend mode we can mess around in since money/exp are earned automatically. Instead of regular SR farming with a champ you didn't want.
