Manipulating other team members

In our game, first pick said other every team member what they should pick. Our jungler was Warvick main player, but when first pick Ashe said that he wanted "better" champion. He picked Vi instead. When it came to my turn he said that I should pick Sona or Leona, but instead I chose Fiddlesticks which I have more skill than Sona.

He raged whole game how I was dumb player for not picking High Priority picks and acted salty over the game for my pick.

Guys, why this is a thing? Why does people get salty if you don't pick "meta" picks in ranked games.

Your team captain got high and didn't understand that he needed to be in 5v5 premade, not solo queue.

WTF.

Other than the very poignant point that Ashe isn't exactly a top tier meta champ...

It's almost undeniable that there ARE champions who are almost indisputably better than others. There may be very few niches certain champions better occupy but over the course of the game, the likelihood that the opportunity for those niches to shine is much lower. In this case, though Fiddles has a great great single target shutdown in his Q and an awesome AoE damage ult, the niches that supports fill often involve more than damage and 1 form of CC (ignoring silence). So "meta" picks are helpful because, typically, these are champions the community believes are the best at the series of niches best suited for the game.

That said, your Ashe was an idiot. People play best when they play the characters they know how to play and play well. Suboptimal picks don't matter at most levels of play and at higher levels of play, there's more coordination so typical meta picks don't apply in the same way. Sure, if everyone was an absolutely perfect player, Fiddlesticks might not be the "best" support nor Warwick the "best" jungler but we're not perfect and these characters fulfill their niches well.

Because some people think everyone should pick the same 10 champs that are being played in the LC$ every game as it's the only way to win.

Some people suck the LCS's dick so much that they never look up and see its ugly face.

It isn't really a thing more than people being jerks is a thing. Which is coincidentally what was going on.

Wait Sona is High Priority?

You have to be really deeply stupid to do this... wow.

I remember this Corki raging at me for not going Soraka because he wanted to farm. As Corki. Needless to say he was raging and afk farming bot while we won the game 4v5. Ah silver.

I sometimes make suggestions to my teammates on who to pick because there always needs to be someone shot calling. The enemy team was full of assasins and just burst team fighting champs. I told my team to pick a siege comp, and avoid fighting all game. Everyone picked a champ with waveclear ( Gragas, Corki, lissandra, Sona, maokai) vs ( zed, thresh, ezrael, riven, sejuani) , we got every tower except base ones in under 20 minutes, but then my team started fighting under their towers :/ we were really ahead and losing 2 fights put is badly behind. We lost the game cus team stopped caring about towers and just kept trying to fight. Point being, sometimes team comp alone can win you games IF YOU PLAY THE COMP. We could've ended super easily but you know, silver players gotta be silver. Even if your teammate says he's not good with a champ you select, as long as they play the role appropriately you have a higher chance of winning. I know some people say " pick champs your comfortable with" but sometimes that champ just won't help the team as much. If we need waveclear and we tell you to play ziggs, but you're better with fizz.... And we already have a bruiser top or jungle, it hurts the team. Just pick ziggs and spam q and e until you get tower.

people are hell bent on winning in ranked so if anyone else isnt picking the most optimal winning champ (warwick is obviously high on the meta tier list, don't question it), it's trolling

Dat asshe

Idk. I think Fiddles is way better than Sona as a support pick. His Fear CC can peel way harder and is available way more often than Sona's Ult CC. Everything about his kit including his ult makes him a better support pick than Sona. Her poke ability is about the only thing better that she has over Fiddles.

A Warwick player whining about other peoples picks.

That's some irony.

Byakuya Kuchiki5/2/2015, 7:00:18 PM1 votes

its because you play on the trash server (anything besides NA or korea)
