What if... Big Map?

I had a random idea and wanted to get feedback from the experts. What if there was a giant map that had four lanes? It would look like the standard map but simply have an additional center lane and three large jungles. How many team members would you allow and where would you put them? What are your opinions about such a map and the teamwork involved? How absurdly ridiculous is this idea? :-P

EDIT: You can allow more than five players. ;-) Personally, I'm leaning toward eight.

All solo lanes and a jungler. Junglers would level up a lot faster I think due to the extra camp, maybe the 3rd jg can have a move speed buff? or an attack speed buff

Having four solo lanes would nicely solve the 'Support Problem'

I ask you one simple question: Why would you play such a map?

All of League's maps are set up around X lanes and Y jungles between them.

  • Crystal Scar = 1 lane, 0 jungle = Endless teamfight
  • Twisted Treeline = 2 lanes, 1 jungle = ??? barely played
  • Summoners Rift = 3 lanes, 2 jungles= The go-to game map

A bigger map, potentially with more players, just creates Twisted Treeline v2 (this time, it's bigger!). Most players look at Twisted Treeline and think "well... that wasn't really any better than Summoners Rift," unless it's during Hexakill, which puts it on-par with ARAM's endless teamfights.

Yet your bigger map will have the opposite problem. Because the map's so big, it makes it harder to get teamfights. It becomes a map dominated by long-range mobility (TwistedFate TahmKench Pantheon Taliyah AurelionSol ) and endless splitpushers (Tryndamere Nasus Singed ), since you're not going to be able to collapse on them without getting way out of position on the other end.

You would need to balance nearly everything to make it actually work. For example, Auras, large AOEs and such are much more impactful with 8 people than they are with 5.
