Empower The Support!
Supports need the treatment of a Jungler. The Jungler uses Smite as their active when they are jungling to do their primary role which is to get successful ganks and farm using the jungle during the early game. Why can't supports have something similar with a summoner ability? Their wards should be a summoner ability that lets them use wards and can be upgraded similar to Junglers (with reduced cost because it's support, they don't farm) to give them more than 1 wards, then 4 wards, then finally wards and health. This will leave supports with room for an additional item. The catch to this is that if they have the summoner ability for sightstone they MUST buy one of the initial support items for laning phase (Spellthief's Edge, Ancient Coin, or Relic Shield) and everything else only becomes active after they have purchased the support item and have waited say 5 minutes into the game(?) or until there is some sort of benchmark which allows them to recall and buy everything. Support is a strong role, but it is underrated and underpowered because a support cannot carry their team based on their lack of damage and lack of space in their inventory. This will free up the space that supports needs in their inventory to actually become powerful and help their teammates in a better way.
Support is my favorite role in the game. I love the champions and I love the playstyle but I don't main it in soloqueue because I simply cannot carry and I cannot grind as a support since a lot of what the support has to do is empower their teammates instead of empowering themselves which makes the support job a very difficult one. I think this simple change can change the way the game is played and have lasing benefits for every role and every play style. What are your thoughts on this idea?
