What happens to the remaining augment cache fragments and project cores?

I have 2 augment cache fragments left and 32 project cores from the event. Since it's over, what can I do with them? Will they just rot in my loot and crafting inventory?

P.S. Why do we get so many project cores and so little and rare augment cache fragments? Seriously tho these 2 augment cache fragments are such a waste, I didn't want to waste too much money just trying to get another one to craft them. :/[zombie-brand-mindblown]
