What's the counterplay to darius as a melee champ
So, does Darius have any sort of counterplay? Or is this champ ban or lose, he seems way too overbuffed and broken to me. Requires a gut.

Depends on who you are playing. Some beat him and others don't but your answer is extremely match up specific
Play around his cooldowns and play around your spikes and you'll do fine.
As a tank? No theres nothing you can do except hope your jungler ganks and that darius doesnt 2v1. But picking almost any bruiser lets you at least have a chance at outplaying him and solokilling him.

There are 26 top laners with higher winrates and performance (Plat+) and only 19 with worse winrates and performance. Aka, he's in the bottom half of top laners, with a negative win rate.
Against Urgot he's got a 40% winrate.
Gangplank has over a 58% winrate vs Darius, and Ornn, Kennen, Malphite, Teemo, Shen, Kayle, Yorick, and Garen all counter Darius with significant winrate deltas.
That's at least 6 melees in his top 10 counters.
You can also add Mundo, Panth, Illaoi, Jax, to that list and get at least 10 melees, or over half of the entire melee roster for top lane as Darius counters.
Yup, absolutely broken. Don't engage him at all and pray your team carries you...
I can't pick 90% of my fun champs just in case the enemy picks Darius and I will have no other option but to lose to him for 30 mins straight.
At least other bullies like Renekton fall off hard in 1v1 and can be abused when their cooldowns are down / are set behind.
Darius while 0-3 is still AHEAD of you if he manages to hit you 5 times, think about that. 2000 gold worth of items for FREE!
