Question for Riot about Hextech chests

So, there are 4 chests displayed when i click profile. Now, logically thinking, I would think that that means you can have four before you have to wait for the ability to obtain another one to renew. Right now i have 3 gold chests and a grey one displayed on my profile. I'm confused cause i haven't received another one even when one of my teammates got S rank on a champ (I have only got S rank on one champ so far and the ally champs were ones i had yet completed). The thing on my profile says next chest in 6 days, but that doesn't make sense to me that i would have to wait til then when there are gold chests in the profile and one grey one. I don't think i get them if i don't own the champ, but i would like some clarification about that. And, if that was why i didn't get it, I'd understand, but my fiance played the same games as me, owns the champs in question, and didn't get the chest. So what criteria do you have to meet to get a chest when someone gets a S rank?

Gold ones on your profile are the ones you haven't earned yet that month, so you've only earned 1 out of the 4. You get one every time you or someone you queue up with gets an S rank, BUT you must also consider that you can only get 1 this way per champion per season. If you want to get more, you have to play a different champion.
