Message to all those people who judge based on a gold border
Just cause those of us who have a gold border made it to gold doesn't mean we are gods. We don't know all the roles or how to play all champs. Just cause we got to gold doesn't mean that we can insta-carry just cause "oh we're gold". We have to practice the same as you. WE get rusty and out of practice, we make mistakes. We are not perfect because we are only human. I'm so sick of hearing "How are you in gold?" when I'm practicing a champ I'm new to or haven't played in a while. It's BS that people expect me to go into normals and play only champs I know like the back of my hand or to dump me with jung or top even after I say I suck at those roles and then rage at me in game about "how bad" I'm doing, saying I'm using Bronze 5 mechanics just cause I'm not used to a champ. I'm sick of it.
I main supp for crying out loud! I do adc and mid on occasion. How the heck can you look at my gold border and think, "they must be a god player at every champ"?! What, you expect me to hop on in a normal and be like "I'm gonna play what I always play in Ranked just so I can never expand my horizons and stay at Silver-Gold tier for the rest of my life"? The saying goes "practice makes perfect". I'm not playing normals for winning. I'm playing them to practice and get better.
People wonder why some people only know a few roles? This is why. There is no encouragement or support from a team if you do bad with a new champ. We are stuck in the roles we started with because as soon as we get into gold one season it's "HOW ARE YOU IN GOLD?!" all the time if we do bad. Maybe, if this community got its act together, there wouldn't be so many 1 trick ponies in ranked. Maybe if you started being encouraging instead of lashing out just cause we do bad, you might find ranked to be more enjoyable, maybe even fun. Which would you rather have, a first time ekko in normals or a first time ekko in ranked? Up to you community, you can either start being a team player and start being helpful to us who are learning new champs, or you can continue the toxicity and accusations in normals and keep getting the 1 trick ponies who can only play mid in ranked. Your choice.
Thomas Edison failed to make a lightbulb 1000 times. He never quit and he certainly didn't blame other people for failing. He looked at these failures as an experience to learn from. THIS is how you should view losses in normals. Learn from mistakes. Make yourself better. You want a completely serious game where you get all experienced players for the most part? Go to Ranked. Otherwise, you need to realize that people need to use normals to practice. Bots only get you so far on mastering a champ. And don't just say "mute them if they bother you".
You can't mute someone for the entire game just on the off chance they will be like that all game. What if they apologize to you? You muted them so you didn't see it. What if they start being productive and are talking strategy on winning the game? You missed it and YOU get reported for refusing to cooperate with them.
Muting isn't the answer. Taking big steps in the right direction to make a change and improve how you act in both normals and in ranked. Anyone can make a difference. It's the attitude you take with your first step that makes the difference. Good luck out on the Rift, mind your manners, and with all that I can muster PLEASE stop fighting and treating each other like trash!
EDIT: There you go. There's paragraphs. Easier on the eyes.
