Why do some of us play good when we play a champion for the first time?

Most of the time when I play a champion for the first time I play good I bought Kled and played with him and the game ends with me being 15/4 What is the explanation behind this? A few months ago when I played thresh and I ended with 7/4/20 and could 1v1 a fed kha zix I want to know if there are other people there who are as confused as I am 😂😂

A possibility is that the champion plays similar enough to another one you're familiar with.

Another possibility is a variation of the Dunning-Kruger effect; it is a cognitive bias that may cause there to be 3 "phases" of mastering an ability or a subject:

  1. You suck so much that you can't even realize it
  2. You still suck, but now you do know enough to realize that you suck
  3. You no longer suck
