Does Ranked duo-que mean that you get paired with worse teams?

I'm asking because a lot of the time I solo, I can win. But ALMOST ALL THE TIME that I duo, I lose. I did solo in S1 for example, won 6 games in a row I think? Maybe 5...And my scores are all great, meaning I wasn't carried (good assists too, not just ks). But I start to duo que, and its not just normal losing....its like, people are going 1-9, 5-15, etc....just look at my match history and you will see my teams for yourselves.

Anyway, this started happening after a duo-que. So does being a duo-que automatically mean that I start getting people who are WAY below my skill level? Or is this just a coincidence that has been consistent for the past month? I've already had to tell 2 friends that I'm thinking of not queing with them any more just because of this, and it's upsetting because I love playing with them, but I also just cant progress (i.e. no point in ranked any more)...

When you duo you're supposed to get matched up against harder opponents. I always just assumed it was because you have actual "teamwork" and "synergy" potential that your other teammates/opponents won't have, so to make it fair they make you play against better players. For ranked in general, you should only do it if you have actual good synergy or really really enjoy the company of the person you're queuing up with because you're only making the match harder for yourself when you duo. Also as your S1, you're most likely going up against Golds. Since you duo the quality of the Golds you go against probably rises from borderline silver to actually belonging in Gold, so that's probably where your difficulty comes from. As for how your teammates feed, well there isn't much you can do about that. Game is luck too (depending on whether your teammates are good/bad) but it probably has more to do with you duoing.

I thought the same when I got this account out of silver. I got on a 13 or so game winstreak, in my Gold promos, already playing vs Mid to top Gold tier players, duo with a buddy I've been playing with for a while, and suddenly I get teammates who just don't understand the game. They give up kills in every lane, flame, threaten to go afk and everything. I'm like, "Where the hell did this shit come from?" Lol. I feel for you bud.

Kinda.

In Normals, if matchmaking needs to pair a group of 2~5 summoners queueing together and can't find a similarly skilled team of the same number of players to match them against, certain things happen.

Mainly the skill of your opponents gets notably higher to compensate for their lack of communication/familiarity.

I guess matchmaking could also give you worse allies to try to balance it out that way, though I've generally heard it as stronger opponents. With stronger opponents you can loose lane more swiftly and decisively, which could cause a lot of players to rage/look bad/get a bad score compared to a non-duo game.

To duo is to put your team at a disadvantage and if you feel the weight of the other three are to heavy DON'T DO DUO!

Be better to have it removed all together.
