Boots Enchantments

Boots- everyone gets them! They're actually one of the most interesting set of items in the game. I think there should be a rework on the enchantments, though. item 3259Alacrity's always been the go-to (aside from item 3270Homeguard when losing), but it isn't that the other ones're bad. I just feel like they're too niche (item 3266Captain is useful, but too expensive, item 3252Furor is weak even on champs that do a ton of basic attacking like YasuoYasuo except against very specific enemies, and item 3283Distortion, while interesting, is only ever useful if you take two movement summoner spells, which is pretty rare outside of summoner 4summoner 12. Even then, you wanna TP to a tower for the reduced CD, so the MS boost isn't that useful). I'd like to see more passives moved to enchantments, such as Tenacity. MR and tenacity go together a lot of the time, but aren't always connected. I really like item 2138Elixir of Iron simply because it grants access to anyone who wants tenacity, but less than the usual 35%. I hate the idea of having to get item 3111Merc Treads on so many champs. In 3s, item 3170Moonflair Spellblade is something that allows tanky AP champs other boot options instead of forcing them into a single pair of boots all the time. I'd also like unique enchantments to be added to make it a question of what you need in that instance, rather than just "this is the best enchantment, so always get this." Do you need double tenacity, or just some? Allowing you to get 35% from merc treads and/or 25% from an enchantment gives you more options, freeing you up to get item 3020Sorcerer's Shoes or item 3009Boots of Swiftness. This idea isn't even limited to tenacity. item 3047Ninja Tabi's basic attack damage reduction would be useful for enemies aside from physical damage dealers. item 3046Phantom Dancer's ignore unit collision passive. item 3009Boots of Swiftness' slow power reduction. Reducing the damage from critical strikes from when marksmen/melee ADCs get out of control. Things that currently only exist in masteries.

I get homeguard sometimes even when I'm not losing. That decreased time in the fountain can be HUGE and getting back to lane quickly without having to burn teleport can really put you ahead. Also, furor is pretty strong in my opinion. The thing is, most champs you would get furor on either A) Already build something like PD, which works well with furor to give you that movespeed you need to chase people down, or B) Build triforce, which synergizes incredibly with furor. I almost always get furor on people like Jax and Kayle for that reason. I also tend to get it on Vayne, since it works very well with PD, which is a must have for any Vayne player. I think you bring up some good points in other areas however. Merc treads do tend to dominate the field right now. That's not a terrible thing, but it would be nice to have a little variety in terms of tenacity items. Also mobility boots are kinda trash and need to be fixed. The least they could do is give you the regular movespeed boost when they are not activated. Otherwise they just aren't worth it on most champs.

I think Mobility boots giving a "tiny" bit more movement speed when on CD is enough, the boost they give is so good, that any more would make them overpowered (and make swiftness redundant). For a long time I've though another tank based boots would be nice, something to do with HP. With the "Juggaunaut" jungle item, my tank junglers have tenacity, and their build gives nice Armour and HP too, but getting MR in there is tricky. I think an MR enchantment would be a great idea. Maybe if each boot could be enchanted with a weaker version of another boot (like left and right boots :D) it would make them really awesome. People could cross swiftness and mobility, an MR boot with furor, and so on. Then if you have the normal enchantments on top of that, it would create another level of boots, like how they did with trinkets. You get your main boots, then a buff (a weaker version, so mercury with MR buff would give like 40% MR) and then you get homeguard or whatever. Or if it's either or, you'd see people making some hard choices.

I think homeguard and furor probably dominate, with alacrity being a nice one too, the others tend to be too specific for like 5% of the champs. Reduced cost on Captain makes sense, and maybe CDR or distortion (which would be like the idea I already mentioned, since you could have double CDR going up to 25% instead of 15%). Or if distortion gave you a buff on buffs, like if you att speed buff gives you another 5%, Tarics passive armor buff gives another 5% armor, but I think that would probably become TOO overpowered, but good for supports that have even less options when it comes to practical enchants
