What does Kalista bring that other ADCS don't?

I'm a support main who tends to duo queue with an ADC main friend, and I find myself wondering what Kalista's strengths are after this latest round of nerfs? Thanks to the W nerf she can't be a lane bully; thanks to the R nerf she'll find it harder to engage fights or save her support or turn fights around with a great ult; thanks to the nerfs to her autoattacks a couple of patches ago she can't trade 1v1 vs other ADCs unless she's ahead since they'll be doing more damage just by default; thanks to the old nerfs to how she scales with attack speed she doesn't kite well until she has BotRK and Runaan's. All I can really see her bringing to a team at this point is some objective control thanks to her glorified Smite and some burst damage at the end of prolonged teamfights, provided she doesn't get focused down or forced back and is allowed to autoattack endlessly. Does she actually DO anything other than Rend at this point?

Am I missing something? Is my friend just playing her wrong? I'm trying to see her good parts, but all I can see is a kit with no power in anything except Rend.
