Xerath support is a thing

I've been playing a lot of xerath support this season. I feel like he fits the current meta. (Silver 4)

Pros:

-Big damage early without much for items.

-safe poke

-2 second stun for that pesky jungler coming in for the gank

-long range AOE slow

great ult for finishing off their greedy adc who didn't back even after being poked to 10% hp. -very fast wave clear for taking early towers, after you force the enemy bot to back

-large impact on the game. Not many supports can solo the adc late game. Xerath does it from outside their range.

-great mana sustain from passive for more pokes

cons :

Very squishy, If you miss your stun you are in trouble.

-can tilt your adc if you're not careful about avoiding minions. (Your adc doesnt care that you're chunking their support for 1/3 their Hp, you took a cs)

-sometimes your team declares the game over in champ select. THATS NOT IN THE META

TL:DR Xerath support is good in low elo. Just this week I had a game going 25/5/11, beating second place damage to champs by a wide margin.

you can pick ANYTHING at low elo and as long as you are good with it you will do just fine

Like every other low-speed mid-lane mage not named Zyra, this is easily countered by the "Dirty Hooker Squad". Blitzcrank Nautilus Thresh

They will get to you, and once they do, Xerath has nothing to defend himself with.

I've played Xerath support before. It's strong if the enemy team can't deal with you, but, if their team composition has heavy divers and burst assassins you'll probably have a rough time.

Not really any reason to pick it over Brand.

Brand does a similar job, but he is better in teamfights, doesn't need as much gold to be useful, he doesn't have to push the lane to poke, and his stun is always the same duration, where Xeraths is almost nothing if he uses it point blank.

He doesn't seem to do anything Vel'Koz support can't do better.
