Which role is mechanically easiest, and why?

Hey, i was thinking about starting to play ranked, but i haven't chose my main role yet. Im not that mechanically skilled, but my game knowledge is good. Thank you :)

Edit: Which 2 roles are mechanically easiest?

Depends more on the champs you'll play on that role than the role itselfs.

Top: Darius, Kled, Tryndamere JG: Kayn, Nunu, Graves Mid: Orianna, Vlad, Viktor ADC: Xayah, Kai'sa, Lucian Support: Rakan, Morgana, Pyke ( These are the champs, that im most comfortable/best with.) :)

The easiest group of your champs there are junglers, but jng has the extra difficulty of the pathing, I said that it depends more on champs than role but I should've made a exception on jng because jng itself is harder on macro than rest of the roles by default.

For supports you like playmaking ones, definetely not the easiest supps, Morgana is quite simple but not the other two.

For adcs you also like some tricky ones that have high skill ceiling by the cost of being harder to learn. If you want easy mechanics dont play Xayah and Lucian.

Midlane 2 control mages and 1 "go in" mage, that could be the lane you are looking for but I'll say that Viktor mid is lackluster right now. Vlad is the hardest one to learn there.

As I said Kayn Nunu Graves are the easiest ones on mechanics but is jng so keep that on mind.

And for toplane Darius and Trynda are pretty easy to play specially on low ranks but the thing about toplane is that is such counter centred lane and that's something I dislike, but that's my personal view. You could play them, and Kled is harder but neither is a Nidalee or Kalista lvl of hard.

With that champs and if you are looking for the easiest mechanics I recomend you jng or top, with mid being third and the last two supp-adc in either order.

support

even the hard ones are really easy but stick to simple ones like bard and Janna if you want to succeed

I don't think that I'd call Bard a mechanically easy or simple champion.

I was gonna say, Bard is not easy. Try Sona or Soraka. I wouldn't even suggest janna since your ult can also inadvertently save them. You cant accidentally save someone with sona or soraka.

bard is easy

if you say so.

Depending on the champion, support is likely the least mechanical; theres no wave management and the Trading stance in lane is less punishing. You can play someone like Soraka or Sona and succeed very well in lane with minimal understanding of positioning, CSing, and Trading. Support is honestly the best class to learn and practice trading stance on since it doesn't have to worry about trading and CSing.

Overall, Support is more macro oriented than micro and I feel is less punishing to those who aren't quite comfortable with the carry positions.

mechanically?

adc

the majority do the most damage by right clicking afterall

Ah if course I guess Kalista is one of the easiest champs in the game because 90% of what she does is just right click.

I went 30+ kills and one death as kalista when i barely played her in my 5+(like yesterday?)? Years of playing this game.

Troll is by far the easiest you just run it down mid and success...

Ok jokes aside honestly best to stay away from mid unless you can play well against assassins or champs that are safe against assasins and can snowball sidelanes.

Support might be good with the champs you listed. You have both defensive and offensive champs for different matchup.

I'm unranked so my advice might not be great but best avoid mid lane you will face a lot of assasins, who will smash you harder than one for all trundle destroys towers from a little mistake.

Mechanicaly the easiest would be support imo.

However, if you're the kind of person who wants to actually carry the game, you shouldn't play support.

ADC is not a good option because you rely on your support and will play against 2 players. If one of you does bad, tilting or passive aggresive players will just ruin your game experience TOP lane is also not a good option because you'll be confined in the top lane for a good amount of time. Roaming would be hard and you kind of need Teleport to help your team. JUNGLE laning is perhaps the hardest for new players because you need to kite jungle creeps and not simply attack them. You'll run out of health pretty quickly if you do it wrong. Also, if you mess up the jungle path, you won't be able to gank and will put your team in disavantage.

MID lane is by far my favourite. You are relying on yourself against a single player. You have two ways of exit when getting ganked or want to gank. Pushing lane is the closest to towers, you'll be the highest level from your team and you can also carry the game.

Mechanically easiest go for support. Raka, sona, and lulu make games annoying just by existing imo. If you have decent game knowlegde play jungle. THings like ww maybe yi (depends on your elo). Mid lane is hit or a miss. Adc you need to know how to position and kite. Top lane is a mess right now, stay away from there.

Top lane is mechanically easiest, aka point to click bullshittery.

Fiora Aatrox Riven Rumble Gangplank

probably support and top, support champs are mainly easy and point and click (obviously not all of them ) and the hardest part is probably decision making with actives, and top has a lot of safe easy ass picks along with almost 0 influence on the game as long as you dont feed your ass off, i think it generally depends on meta tho

Mechanics generally aren't tied to a role, they're tied to a class.

For example, Tanks will generally be somewhat straight forward - you either lock down targets that either come at your team, or you're diving into the enemy team to lock down their damage dealers. However, Tanks can be played Top, Jungle, or Support with ease, and can also be played Mid on occasion. What role doesn't make sense for the class overall, since some tanks will be better at some roles than others.

Every role has easy champs. Midlane tho relies more on you outplaying your opponent and then roaming to snowball, so if you're not that good mechanically i'd avoid that. Your best bet are toplane and jungle. Both roles require more knowledge than mechanical skill. Consider that i got to D4 by maining Nasus toplane, a linear statcheck champ with almost no outplay potential. Good luck with the climb and don't get frustrated!

As many others have said, champs can vary a lot in difficulty.

Soraka? Mechanically easy. Bard? You're gonna spend some time learning to properly e and how to not kill your team with ults.

Annie? Simple as they come for mage mechanics. Ryze? You've got quite the learning curve to work out.

There's simple champs in each role (garen, Warwick, ashe) and hard ones (riven, nidalee, Draven).

Tbh I recommend trying easier champs from all the roles to see where your preferred playstyles lands. Even though they're mechanically easy, each has difficulties that can cause problems if you don't play into them. You need good early aggression to succeed on raka, good target priority to be effective on Annie, varus punishes bad positioning due to his mobility, and so on. You just gotta find someone within your mechanical range (not even necessarily at the bottom) whose style fits yours, and that takes a decent bit of trial and error. Mine took a season and a half's worth.

Jungle is definitely more macro and less micro. Which is why I'd put JGL as the mechanically easiest role. Most of the times perfect execution doesn't matter if you pick the right timing/pathing.

Choosing a second role is actually difficult. Top is all about minion mechanics. Mid is 1 mistake = dead. Supp's similar, although you can make a small mistake and live, but make a big mistake and it's a double.

So i'd pick ADC as #2. While kiting requires decent a mechanical skill level. Once learned all you have to do is watching the map and position you selfe correctly. So again macro>micro.

Adc and support probably have the lowest skill floors you can have due to champion picks.

If you want the easiest champions just grab soraka/Janna support and tell your adc “you got this”

For adc just grab Ashe or sivir and only have to worry about positioning.

Of course every role has high skillcaps. Like kalista and thresh both have some of the highest skill caps in the game.

i would say supp and top. i personally believe my mechanics arent good and i like healing people so im maining supp myself, and top got alot of tanks that arent very hard to pickup

FisZions1 votes

MY OPINION:

Hardest to Easiest

Jungle: Probably hardest role to pick up and plays way different from other roles

ADC: Positioning and constantly fighting while being squishiest class

Top: Honestly I think Top can be harder than ADC. Most Top laners are melee, meaning if you don’t know your champ and your oponent’s champ then it is super risky to trade

Mid: To me it’s just not as punishing as Top since your generally ranged. Watch for ganks is hardest part. A good amount of times you use full rotation, leave, then come back when they’re off cooldown

Support: I’m sure it gets harder at higher elo, but to me its the easiest to pick up

I’d like to think I’m not biased as I play mostly Mid/ADC with some Support

Daddy Ants1 votes

Mechanically from easiest to hardest:

Support -> Top -> Mid -> ADC -> Jungle

In terms of solo agency over outcome of games aka Solo carry potential (from least to most)

ADC -> Top -> Mid + Support -> Jungle

Jungle is the most impactful role in the game along side Support and Mid.

Better Jungler wins is so relevant this season it's disgusting.
