What is with this BS LP system?

League of Legends Match History

So I'm pretty frustrated right now. And I by no means claim to be a great player. I learned how to MOBA on this account.

On my match history, I started at 62LP in Bronze 5. I go on to win three games which gets me too 100. Of course it had to be 3 cause 98LP.

I steamroll my promo and auto promote because of the free win bonus. I go on to lose two in a row and am sitting at 0LP because of the protection.

I win one, 14LP. I lose one 0LP. Three wins in a row to 42LP. One loss due to our Fioras Internet crapping out repeatedly and I'm back at 21. (Should also be noted that we were winning handily until we lost Fiora and had to 4v5 the rest of the game.)

So I'may gaining 14 per win and losing 21 per loss? How does this work? This grind is the definition of hell.

8 wins and 4 losses. That's a 66% win rate and I'm just BARELY climbing...

Thanks for hearing me.

I feel you man. I gain 18 and lose 22 while some of my friends gain 33 and lose 8 (their mmr is LOWER THAN MINE).

I feel your frustration. A lot of it has to do with this hidden MMR system. How much LP you get depends on your MMR and the MMR of those you play with/against. The only way to fix your MMR is to keep playing. Honestly, I wouldn't even look at your rank right now. It honestly doesn't matter if you're bronze 4 or bronze 5. Just have fun, learn from your mistakes and your MMR should fix itself within a 100 games or so. Climbing is a marathon not a sprint.

I personally think we should go back to a system where your MMR/elo is your rank but that's just me.

So is it better to play well and let the enemy win?

Most games that are unsuccessful are attributed directly to our teams lack of willingness to group for and engage teamfights. These are usually games that I start out ahead and by endgame I'm 9-10 deaths deep. We can be three levels ahead, get a triple kill and be 3v1 against a lone Assassin on turret. No matter how many times I ping it the team just won't follow up on the dive. Or help push the tower down. Getting a Quadra to watch the entire team back for items instead of pushing objective, Etc.

I will end up in a desperation bid constantly having to 3v5 or 4v5 at base attempting to salvage a guaranteed loss because the team doesn't understand how to close out.

In these situations where the team is too heavy to carry is it better for my MMR to just farm and salvage a positive KDA knowing the loss will come eventually?

Or is it better to go for the insanity 1v5 dragon/baron steals 3v5 last stands etc?

I honestly don't know.
