Remove the bronze-plat system that literally everyone I know has despised since its inception, remove promotionals in which endless suffering has occurred as a result of trolls and afk'ers ruining any chance decent players have had at moving up, and get back to the basic concept that is elo. And then, for matchmaking, have teams pitted against one another based on the average or combined elo of each team.
Until this happens (And it probably never will) I will never seriously participate in ranked.

No this would essentially make individual effort mean more. It's a single way of dealing with the issue. Not the only way.
