Kassadin has been somewhat neglected by Riot, since his massive ult nerf last year, and his subsequent rebuffing shortly after. All champions have their strengths and weaknesses, but Kassadin's strengths aren't enough to make up for his weaknesses. For example he can chase down many champions (But only after level 11), and trade with many AP mid laners (But basically no other champions than these). At the core of these issues lies his damage. What's good is an assassin who can't even duel an ADC or squishy DPS? He has exceptionally poor burst, and even though he can follow a champion to the ends of the earth, they often end up escaping or turning around on even a very fed Kassadin, and killing him. IMO, he should receive buffs on the AP scaling to his ult damage, to give a fed or late game Kassadin a chance to kill an enemy when he chooses to commit to a fight.

Yeah Kass's late game utility is pretty awesome, but what I'm saying is his damage scales poorly, with mediocre scalings. He might have a 3 or 4 second ult, but what use is that if there's no damage to back it up?

Except there is a lot of damage backing it up. If you're micromanaging your ult stacks correctly, you should easily be able to nuke someone with it for full damage (360 (+60% AP) (+6% Max mana)) before unloading the rest of your burst (roughly 700 +(260% AP) if you have Lich bane). Add onto that the fact that Kassadin has amazing skirmishing capabilities and can effectively use his full burst combo on a mere 9 second cooldown (less with CDR) and it is easy to see where his damage is late game.

Don't expect to one shot people, that's not his style, pick Zed or Talon for that. Expect to kill people from about 70-80% HP and then dive in and out between kills. He's much more suited to cleanup than outright assassination.

I go either item 3027 or item 3157 depending on matchup, than item 3100 , than either item 3001 or item 3285 (RIP DFG) than either item 3089 or if I haven't already gotten it, than either item 3116 or item 3135 , than any one of item 3102 and item 3143 item 3026
