Season 6 has ruined Support Mages and Support/Lane Tanks

Whenever I was in the mood for supporting in past seasons, I would have a great time with it, because I have a lot of love for mages. Their heals/shields and CC were the reason lanes were pushed in my team's favor. If not mages, then supportive Tanks and their massive cheese power did the same thing (Nami Lulu and Leona Nautilus respectively).

Now that Season 6 is about to finish rolling out like fresh red carpet, I find that my key champion picks are now useless because of new items like item 3036 that prevents even anti-physical champions like Sejuani or Taric from lasting long in extended fights, regardless of builds.

I need to know why Tanks are made no longer valuable despite popular belief, since overnight I can no longer do much for my team late-game in the face of any AD champion

You do realize that leona is still very strong and janna is also.

I know how strong Leona is, but I still lose games when I play tanks since no one follows me on initiations

So did I understood it correctly: you think support tanks are weak because they can't do anything if nobody follows? Well, i guess you will never have 1x5 fighters. Right now tank supports are better used for saving some overbuffed allied MF rather then initiate on enemy. And about mage supports-FQC is strong, Thunderlord is strong too, and Brand is still god of botlane as ultimate mage support(with Soraka being ultimate healing support and Tahm being ultimate tank support, and all 3 are banned often)

  1. If you didn't lose games with X type of champs, said type of champs would be broken (also that is statistically impossible).
  2. What you describe is a player problem rather than a champion archetype problem.

I feel like the supports at the moment are great at what they do. Protecting the ADC. Lulu is a great example for that. A lulu shen vayne combo (maybe a little love from Yorick summoner 11 and Kayle Ult) you have a protect the vayne to infinity comp :D

Look at your rank. Low elo mistake their inability to play a champion effectively for that champion being underpowered.

Soooo....insulting my rank instead of giving some information?

If you get better at this game, everything will become standardized with a few outliers and you can see the true potential of specific champs/items that you would otherwise see as underpowered because of your inability to access the true potential of those champs/items.

I try to theorize builds every day, but most of them dont bring me results since my elo gives me bad teams

How are mage-ish supports "struggling" when their preferred gold item is at its best?
