Before people come in and comment it's not a big deal.
People pay money to go to these things, potentially even skipping out on work just to support a game they love, just to be told they aren't allowed to enter 5 out of the 8 panels Riot holds with the remaining three being Cosplay, Quiet time/Meditation and Ask Riot.

All subject that people off all backgrounds can care about, will be locked behind a wall over something players have no control over, with Riot claiming that these same players form a potential threat that they're unwilling to deal with.
This could have been an event to promote women in the workplace, with it all being hosted by female Riot employees, and show countless people how to create a diverse world and realistic characters that anyone could feel represented by.
Instead of treating women and non-binary people like equals Riot decided to pull them away from the rest and give them their own treatment, once again making the impression that women and non-binary people simply need more help than the rest, and that men at their core are a threat to all other genders.
This could have been a great event to promote all people and give some extra love to woman and non-binary people, showing Riot and League of Legends as a whole has a community that can be welcoming to all, but Riot decided to take a different route.
And in my opinion, this could have been a great thing that has now been wasted completely.
I will say this, they certainly lost a lot of old fans as well as potential new ones. PAX may not be everything, but it is a pretty huge fucking deal. That said, barring people from most of their stuff simply because they were born a certain gender is suicide. Riot's only chance to save themselves is to find the one(s) who came up with that idea and/or enforced it, fire them, and publically announce that they made a mistake and that they terminated everyone responsible for it.
I am no business expert, but even I can say they're commiting financial suicide right now.
I came in expecting this meme, and I was not disappointed.
