Karthus lategame varies?

I've been playing recently and I've noticed that his damage is almost like RNG. For example, I played a game against and everything went well, ended up carrying the game. When I played a game against , early game went great too. I stayed on the same level or being one above and with decent farm, but when late game rolled around, my ult seemed to be doing zero damage. only had and I even had , but my ult always did around if not less than 100 hp to him. I find this about him ultra annoying, since I can't figure out what causes this.

The game, everyone on my team basically lost lane and the enemy team started steamrolling, but that shouldn't make my ult do zero damage. Any answers to this will be greatly appreciated!

Yasuo has his shield. Was he the only one that caused you this problem? Also,if they steamrolled your whole team,they were higher levels,so they had better base stats and surely more gold,so i guess they built something defensive other than mercuries. Then there are runes and masteries that can boost resistances,shields from items and skills. A lot of things can let you think that your ult does no damage,even if it's not like that.

Did you go double staking items? Don't. If youre suck at catalyst+tear for a while you won't deal any damage until 40 minutes

It probably depended more on their builds than on yours. As it is, Karthus's ult does little damage, since it is doing (almost) guaranteed damage to all five enemies. So, if the enemies pick up even one mr item (spirit visage, abyssal, and especially banshees), your damage is gonna be decreased a lot, even with the void staff (which only kills about 1/3 of mr). So all you can really hope for is to build either full kamikaze ( item 3040 item 3027 item 3089 item 3285 item 3165 item 3135 boots are for wussies), jump in and try to kill people; or you can go tankyish kamikaze ( item 3116 item 3102 item 3157 boots are still for wussies), jump in, and try to kill people with your e before dying and ulting. And pray to the lord that they don't build mr.

Honestly, I lost interest in this man, because of how suicidal I had to be to play him, generally.
