I have a dear friend who played this game for like 5 seasons with me and he always insists me to go to 3v3 because I can decently play rumble.

Tell him to play SR if he wants ranked. TT both queues are for fun mode. None cares about it, not even Riot. You can be terrible at the game and get to diamond in 3v3 by simply playing funnel with 2 friends.
