If you have a negative winrate and have over 200 games on your main.

i think its logic to move to another champion. You cannot climb with that. I recently got a Tristana who has 260 games with 46% winrate. You just proven yourself that choice is worse than a coin flip. Actually worse than a amature Ryze. She catapulted herself into a brand 3 times early game. I say you should consider playing Varus at that point so you cannot suicide by yourself. Also I will not forget you tried to report me by allchatting into the enemy team that I was "afk" while you jumped in. There is no saving that crap.

Myself? Well I used to play Jhin, but I realised I suck at winning with him, so I main a different champ now with considerably better results.

or I could care less about what you think and still play a champion I like despite me not being the greatest at it

If you wanna do that don't come to ranked. It is like the opposite mentality and purpose of playing this gamemode. You adapt and improve.

Ok, you do not seem to get the message. I do not care what you main, but you need to show the effort you are at least trying to win in ranked. Stubbornly playing a champ you are destined to fail, and not thinking about strategy, builds or pathing to improve is just the same as surrendering on default. You are just below average not only by results, but by that tilted mentality.

and I will play whatever the hell I please because I can have a 70% winrate with a champion that I always feel I am doing nothing at all but a 40% winrate with someone that if I just tidy up things I can become an unstoppable force. Why would I go and play something else if I am not enjoying myself? how am I supposed to improve on my main if I am not playing it? hell let me even tell you something. Someone played a certain champion for 500 games... the first 250 the guy went 50-200 while the 2nd half he went 150-100... meaning he actually improved in a very significant fashion but with your "don't play X if you have less than 50% winrate after Y games!" pretty much means that all that effort went to waste if he actually followed your advice.

People need to stop looking at winrates like it even means something, let's use the previous example that dude has a 200-300 score, that is below 50% but what it doesn't show is that the guy actually improved. Someone can have a 60% winrate with something but most of the loses have come in recent history meaning he is not using the champion as best as he could at that current rank but that is not shown in the 60% winrate that player has with the champion. I will play what I want to play and everyone else should do the same. You are a absolute nobody to tell others what they should and shouldn't be playing. You are the only one who is tilted here and the only one who gets tilted because someone on your team doesn't have a positive winrate with whatever champion they are using

I cannot tell if you are ignoring my point on purpose, or making unrealistic assumptions. I'm merely offering a proposition for a better outcome with a quick solution. I do not enforce, I dodge games.

In a similar vein I find it interesting when you really love a champions mechanics and abilities and feel, you feel they will be a good fit for you, and you are terrible on them. Then you play a champion you have not given much thought toward and end up great on them. SOMETIMES I can re-visit them and understand them more fully and play them with a fresh play. That might also be a good idea for anyone arguing either side of this.

As far as playing certain champions and chastising people. I can understand you really should be logging into ranked with a few alternative picks, not a one trick, what if they are picked or banned? And you should be playing your A game... ?

On the flip side of this coin people can want to play a specific champion for reasons others may never understand. As an example, I am VERY much so a 'memory and interaction by association' person, you change your messenger icon, I will be a little off by it, I may not reply to you right away even if you say hi and I see its you, its like my brain resets, I act 'new' around you. They change a skin or effects on a champion drastically or the abilities dont LOOK like they FEEL and I will struggle to play the champion. For me its like trying to play a dancing game with the sound off. You come at me with a champion in a new skin and even if I read the name 10 times I will have to keep reminding myself. Like these God Fist and god skins throw me. Its just a weird example of why someone might keep picking a champ they are not amazing on.

although to go back and forth there are like 150+ champions and a 1 trick should really ask WHY they 1 trick, what it is they like and dont like and ask why, what they tend to be good at weather its what they want or not, and why, or why they are bad on who they like and AT LEAST consider other champions or they have no business in ranked. Thats 100% why there is a minimum champions owned to play ranked. So you have alternate picks.....

Picking 1-2 champions only is selfish. Does the team need AP or AD? Do we need more DPS or TANK? And what if you pick is banned or taken or you dont get the role you want? You are supposed to pick and build items in response to the enemy team. If you dont thats fine, you wont move up, but if you are playing ranked casually, without caring if you win or lose or how you perform, you are only ruining games for others and should not be in ranked. If you want to play purely for fun and dont care, then play normals.

BY THE WAY before the report descriptions changed from stuff like 'unsportsmanlike conduct' Riot FLAT out said not playing your role, or not playing the game in earnest to win, was reportable. Thats the game developers feeling on it. Meaning your attitude could be seen as negative or trolling, esp in ranked.

So you never know. Stuff like Kat's rework , I still cant play her correctly now.

honestly, I don't see the problem

by a large game sample, a player one tricking a champ they aren't great with will STILL be where they belong

they're not climbing but they're also not ruining games. just play what you have fun with. you'll probably get better without even trying to eventually and most of this game isn't about mechanics.

the bigger issue is if someone has a really great climb on other champs and then randomly plays champs they have no clue about or are really bad at. then, the system considers their MMR to still be quite high but in fact they are ruining games because they're playing way below it.

That is what I mean! These decisions are not helping the team and the individual. It is just pure stubborness.

lol I can't believe you're getting downvoted for common sense advice.

"But but the champ is fun!"

NA is a disgrace. Ranked is not "for fun".

People are offended by numbers these days. Ranked is not mandatory. and they should stick to normals.

For my part. I mained Jhin for the start of the season, but since i cannot win I thought "What would the other people think about me?" thus I changed my strategy and champion as a whole. A win and loss is all that matters in the end. "fun" should not come as top priority. If you cannot win. you should not have fun. If you can have fun and win at the same time and it is effective by all means do it.

If you can't get both and still persist to do it over 250 games. That is not determination, that is laziness to try to change.

people have different goals in ranked though. some just play it for improved matchmaking. if for example you really play jhin 250+ games with a 45% winrate and are hardstuck silver as a result, you're not ruining games. it's a large sample and you're just at your fair level of play when using jhin. so what's the problem? maybe they'd be g4 with a champ that fit their play better but as long as people don't ruin games, what's the issue?

Well your not wrong. If you aren't having success maybe try moving main champions if you are interested in playing ranked. If not then just play what you like. [slayer-jinx-wink]

I don't get what is behind the minds of these people. Like they must be perpetually tilted to continue this.
