Riven Mid? Opinions?

I'm thinking of getting another champ for my pool. I play mid and secondary is jg.

I enjoy playing champs with higher skill caps, such as Zed, Shaco, and Leblanc. I enjoy playing champs with very strong snowball potential and strong lane phase. I enjoy playing champs with no mana (energy, etc.) I enjoy playing champs that can play aggressive, yet escape/fight off ganks from enemy junglers easily.

Would you guys think Riven mid is a viable choice? Is Riven a good counter to some of the meta's strongest mid laners?

Just need some opinions :)

Thanks

was good in like... season 3 if I remember. Not good anymore now that mid mages are good again

Great counterpick for assassins but a good Veigar or Lux is plain impossible to beat.

are you taking tp and going mid? the difference between top and mid really is jsut distance. otherwise they identical. mids have luxury of takign a different summoner spell, they roam mroe easily (which make sense with riven) and they can help control dragon/jungle more easily (also makes sense with riven). the typical midlane champs could make farming difficult for you, but not a huge deal probably, and these exact same champs could always go top if they wanted if you think about it, so this isnt an issue you are necessarily avoiding by sending riven top.

Yeah she's good situationally, but she can get wrecked easily by some of the more commonly seen mids at the moment, (Lux, Veigar, etc).
