I like to hear this, especially with the new lore update, and the song As we fall, Varus DOESN'T have to be perfect, but he can be amazing, Jhin and Asol are the definition example, give him some unique abilities, I want discuss this with Riot LONG time ago that : Varus IS using A LONG BOW! In reality, you just can not fire bunch of arrows with a LONG BOW , even tough man like Olaf Zac Braum, Crossbow --------Twitch Vayne can fire arrows with high speed but should be short ranged, Vayne makes sence but Twitch.....? Longbow-----------Varus Ashe are simply not making sence at all, both two characters performance to be building up high attack speed champions, but the same time, they do have abilities that Longbow archers should've have, Varus QE and Ashe WR

I think the best solution is to make Varus a bit more like Jhin------------more spell damage, powerful attacks but with limits; so you do about 70% of spell damage, and 30% of attack damage, and I believe it is a way to help the idea of bringing other class into bot lane as well.

Varus is a Darkin.... We dont know his actual physical strength, other than he IS his weapon.

ITS HISTORY TIME BOIS.

In ye olde days, back when England was known as England and not Great Britain, there were this thing called archers. Now, English archers were famous because they had these massive longbows, and groups of them would block out the sun. Not really, but they tried. Anyway, military archers, at that point in time, were able to fire 10 - 15 arrows a minute. Now, that doesn't seem like much, but that was significantly faster than pretty much any other ranged weapon. Even when muskets and rifles started popping up, longbows still had a faster firing rate, for a decent amount of time.

Also, crossbows had the worst fire rates. They were simple weapons, that required little strength or skill to use, which made them good for garrisons, but at the cost of fire rate and distance. The two most popular forms of crossbows were a hand cranked one, which required you to turn a lever to pull back the string, or a crossbow with a stirrup, which had to be grounded, then pulled back by hand.
