This is not a complain, before you read this long and boring letter, I think I will just make the topic clear that I do not like the PBE Asol changes but it will not be a complain, Ill explain in detail how and why I hated the changes.

First, what is AurelionSol 's identity? I think we can all agree that he is a

  1. push/roam mid laner(if you not trolling, mid lane definitely is the best role)
  2. Control mage
  3. constant damage ap champion
  4. has mana issue early but okay later stage of the game
  5. does not scale very well, but certainly can make a stunning play with a decent damage, but requires players' skills heavily
  6. extremely vulnerable against any champions with multiple dashes/engages OR strong cc, if both then it is an impossible mission to win a lane.

Not much champions today like AurelionSol and Ivern and Jhin has a clear weakness that seemly almost impossible to play yet they always shine on the right hands, and if you pay attention they were never a broken champion or causing too much chaos. _Champions like them are the best design, and should be the standard of power level to balance teams. Because at the current stage of the game, champions are massively overloaded. _ Talon was reworked because it is unhealthy to give an assassin large aoe burst damage, it is a good move by riot teams but what about Qiyana ? is it okay to give an assassin two stuns in her kit and in face one of the two is a teamfight aoe stun. Should assassins have a teamfight aoe stun in their kits? AurelionSol must be a pain to balace, if you over buff him, he will be broken and if you nerf him he will be unplayable, WHY IS THAT? because he is already balanced, (true he has problems, lots of) but he is an overall balanced champion, that is exactly why you would feel he is hard to balance. **How do you balance a champion that is already balanced? ** whats unbalanced is the currently played champions such as one of them Qiyana , that is almost designed to counter AurelionSol I believe if you read till this far, we must have an argument of is AurelionSol really balanced? Here is why AurelionSol is really good at roaming and ganking, but that does not mean assassins cant, in these days we see more and more assassins has multiple dashes and crowed control Ahri Akali Diana Ekko Fizz Kassadin Katarina Leblanc Qiyana Talon Yasuo Zed Sylas , with their high burst due to the new runes system. not so long ago, pros were all complaining about the damage in the game is too high, just imagine how easy is it to get a kill on the assassins with multiple dashes with CC and a really high damage. Im not complaining, just a comparison to AurelionSol that how hard it is actually to get a kill, indeed AurelionSol pushes faster and has the priority to roam in paper, but in reality, lots of the times; AurelionSol is afraid to do so due to his unique style of pushing. unlike Ahri Azir TwistedFate usually tend to push a wave from a distance, pushing a wave for AurelionSol requires him to put himself inside the middle of the wave, usually hovering one side of river entrance which makes very vulnerable by doing so. It is about the rewards and risks, AurelionSol holds too many risks yet the reward arent so impressive. Now, lets talk about the PBE AurelionSol . There is term called "short trades" and "long trades", short trades represents champions who usually has a comb in their kit, with a burst of damage but a longer cooldown such as Ahri TwistedFate Leblanc long trades are champions like AurelionSol Azir Malzahar short trade champions tend to win trades in lane within a short amount of time, long trades out damages by time due to the constant damage they can deal over time. AurelionSol lose to short trades, always. but probably is one of the best long trade champions in early games since the other long trade champions tend to scale better late game. This PBE AurelionSol is turning into a short trade champion due the large void of his new W cooldown, and AurelionSol is always so eagle to push the lane in order to roam so we might have situations like this, a Zed Yasuo Fizz sees you using W to push the wave, and immediately right after blindly jumps on you, AurelionSol will be forced to retreat, unable to push the wave nor damage the champion that is in you, 3 seconds later W goes on cooldown, Yasuo or Fizz uses another dash to get away from you, win a free trade without taking any damage. All these 3 champions has abilities or mubilities to dodge your very slow Q stun very easily. Conclusion: AurelionSol is much more vulnerable to assassins now.

I think we dont need to discuss how the wave clear is definitely weaker now, also with the E passive movement speed removed and a longer cool down makes the roam weaker too.

Lastly, do you think it is okay to give a roam, snowball champion a burst damage?? Do you really think, it is healthy that what if AurelionSol got a double kill from a roam, snowballing a game with insane burst? I guess not, since I tested in PBE, the "burst" is not really, I mean there is but not really that impressive anyways, a lot of the times, I ended up "bursting" the targe to a low health and then having a shrinking W, just like at the perfect moment you realized that you forgot to buy a condom... what a un-smooth kit.

i prefer DPS mage Sol over short trade version. i swear this new one is mainly a top laner or splitpusher.
