QOL change for Talon's Rake

Is there a reason why Talon rake doesn't function the same as Sivir boomerang blade and Ahri orb of deception? Unlike these two skills, if rake is midair when talon dies the projectile immediately stops. So if talon is about to kill a target and dies while rake is airborn then it will not continue. It will stop both before it hits the first time, as well as not return to him if he dies after rake goes out. Meanwhile both Sivir's and Ahri's skills will continue to go forward and come back if they are killed during the projectiles flight.

This has happened to me numerous times while playing talon and since I play a lot of ahri as well it can be very frustrating to have died while your rake is mid air knowing it would've for sure killed the target. If I remember correctly I believe his ult functions the same way. If he dies after his blades go out, I don't think they comeback in, but I'm not to worried about that. I just feel that for the sake of consistency of gameplay functionality that his W should operate the same as similar skills.

EDIT: I believe that Gnar boomerang also keeps going and comes back if he dies during the animation. If so, that is 3 skills that do and talon's doesn't

EDIT: I'm getting a lot of people saying that this change would be a huge "buff" to Talon. I beg to disagree. Like I have stated, this is how the skill should function to begin with taking into consideration that all other similar skills already do this and riot has set a precedent with similar skills that function the correct way on champs that were released both before and after talon. As for it being a "buff", let me bring to light that all of the champions in question who have their "boomerang-ish" ability are all in a very strong spot atm.

Ahri Ekko Gnar Sivir all see tons of professional play and are very strong picks. The reason they are strong has nothing to do with the fact that their "boomerang" abilities function the way they do. Therefore saying that making talons rake function the way that it should would buff him is honestly a weak argument imo. This change is for the sake of consistency. Even though I myself have had this happen to me numerous times, it honestly doesn't happen a lot for you to die during your rake animation. That also doesn't make it any less frustrating when it does happen. I would truly like to see a rioter shed some light on the situation.

I love Talon, and wish this would be addressed, but they won't. It's also annoying when the VERY EDGE of ONE of my ultimate's razors hits windwall, wasn't even his intention to block it, it's just that both windwall and my ultimate are so large, then it cancels the whole thing.

Neither will be fixed. We should probably just be grateful that our Tolan is still a good assassin.

"my ult is so large" first world AOE Assassins problems.

what does Talon have that other assassins don't in terms of AOE? Give me a 2 second silence on my E and I'll gladly give up my AOE

Riot doesn't want to buff Talon, even small buffs such as this. They just hate the champion with a passion and any time Talon is even remotely close to the spotlight he gets nerfed into oblivion.

Just take a look at his cutthroat nerf, and how they tried to justify changing a silence into a completely useless slow.

i think talon is fine as he is its true he has a weak early game but his late game is too strong

It's not really about him being strong or not. It's about consistency in terms of function of similar skills throughout the game.

You are fighting a losing battle. Riot's never going to buff talon even if it is for consistency. Got him in an aram yesterday. Cost me 3 separate kills. We cant even get riot to talk about him unless it is about nerfs.

I understand where you are coming from and it is very frustrating to lose kills due to this. But, i wouldn't consider it a buff considering that this is the way the skill should function to begin with. I thought it was worth a try to bring it to their attention and I hope that they will hear us out and make the change for the sake of clarity and consistency for the game.

I, along with others, have already complained about this since season 2.

Riot didn't give a flying fuck, but decided to give this feature to the later releases. It doesn't matter if it's a QOL change or a buff, Riot just didn't consider it for Talon.

I'm salty.

Hey now, don't forget Ekko Q

... Though rake is rather fast and shorter ranged compared, so in most cases it will hit the target regardless after he dies.

Realistically rake has to travel that fast due to the disadvantage of a shorter range in comparison to similar skills. I'm not sure what the speeds on all of the abilities being talked about are, but I feel like rake only seems like it moves so fast because of its short range (shorter distance to go therefore it comes back quicker). If it has the same range as Ahri orb for example, it might have a pretty similar flight time.

I disagree with this. For what his roll is as an assassin that burst a carry from 100-0 within .75 seconds, it isn't justified. However, I do understand your frustration but have you ever though of actually landing your Q a 2nd time after then run away? :) It's like the boomerang concept but you don't have to aim to begin with! You just get to watch them bleed out. Literally. Pair it with ignite and you can bet that you giving first blood won't be in vain! Hope this helps!

I main Talon but I didn't want to come off as, "I MAIN TALON AND YOU'RE NOT GOOD YADADADADAA I KNOW ALL HIS MECHANICS AND YOU DON'T GIT GUD! TAHP GEHK!!!"

There are many things that aren't justified in this game. Riot still keeps them

His ult does that too.

They're never going to give him this unless they give him a nerf to go with it. He's already really strong in Solo Q.

I'm not sure why everyone thinks this would be such a huge buff? This is a QOL change that even though it has happened to me numerous times doesn't occur on a regular basis, probably not even once a game, but it is frustrating none the less. This change would be for the sake of consistency and clarity for the game.
