I just got out of game in which I was playing Shen support. Both the Yasuo and Lee sin (whom I presume were duo) repeatedly called me both r%%%%%ed and autistic. Using those words as an insult is completely unacceptable and should be taken very seriously, which im sure it is. Many people have friends or family who are either autistic or mentally r%%%%%ed and using those words as insults can be highly offensive. I can see where if you don't know anyone who is, you might not understand the weight that those words carry, and until recently I didn't know anyone personally who was either of these two things either. The use of these words in a negative way should automatically result in at least a chat restriction if not a instant ban. There should be no place for people who are that toxic in this community!

Have faith in the system. Unfortunately, for now you only get notification that they were punished if you were the LAST person to report them before they got banned or w/e, but if they continue acting like this, it'll definitely catch up to them. I had a similar case where this toxic karma smurf somehow got matched with me in a bots game and proceeded to be toxic towards everyone, calling everyone trash and making bomb threats and the like......after reporting them, within minutes they were punished (prob banned).

For those who don't know what autism is, I think the fact of the matter is that it's commonly used as an obvious derogatory word for "retarded". Regardless, people shouldn't uphold it among themselves to degrade others verbally just because they're doing bad in a game. That's literally a lose-lose situation in whatever perspective that you choose to look at it from.

Yeah, same. I agree with you in terms of a word shouldn't piss you off, but I think the main point of the OP was that verbal abuse and harassment should be completely unacceptable. A lost game can still be a fun one, a won game can still be completely unenjoyable. Verbal abuse and harassment ruin the experience of playing LoL for everyone around them, and should not be acceptable in any way, shape, or form. I personally don't care if someone calls me a retarded dumbfuck who should stick a bucket full of legos up my ass (yes, that's a quote from a game, lmao right?) but I do know that it could piss someone else off. I mean trading joking insults between friends is one thing, but actual flaming is entirely different. Yes, the best solution is to just brush it off, but some people really take that stuff personally. And in the end, it's just a game, right? ;)

It's not terrible, he can work as a support just fine. Some pro players have even picked him in LCS and solo queue, so there's no reason to not play him support if you want.

While some people who have mental retardation or autism really may need a hand to survive properly, most of them do not when they are given proper guidance.

Not to mention if you like using a type of people as an insult you might as well use skin colours, academic degrees, heights, physical build/appearance, nationality etc as an insult. I don't think I need to say more.

Not everyone who has a particular mental condition is born with the extreme textbook example of it. Most of them function just fine, as long as they were given proper guidance when growing up, much like any other human beings on this planet, just the advises they receive would be a little different to general public's.

However indeed, words shouldn't matter, what matters is the intention and context. Don't degrade people over the internet over trivial things (while dragging another group of people in with your choice of diction), it's silly.

And what if the person is in fact there and gets offended, or someone feels particularly strongly about it and feels attacked? It's not really up to you to decide what amount/type of punishment other people can take, and it's disrespectful to assume that just because you brush it off they should too.

One can just mute them but still, having something that can get back to those people would be nice.

The amount of toxic players is still high, it hasn't seemed to be as bad but let me tell you what happened.

1.) First Game with the new system I had players on my team raging calling racist slurs.

2.) Second game They harassment my chat, and even other players argue and report me when another player calls mid, then decides to go bottom lane and troll making the entire game unplayable for me because he tells me this the last like 30 or less seconds and no time to even properly change out anything or even change champion for that matter because its already locked for a support role.

What does Riot do, likely nothing about both these situations maybe the racist one not that I cared or took offense personally but it was annoying being called racist words in chat.

I just start typing Chineese whenever I get toxic players screw it.

And that is why people shouldn't use it...You say you don't want people getting all worked up over specific words being used because you have been punished for it, oh course you don't want people to think of these things as toxic..Friend, don't worry about what others say to you just play the game and do the best with your new chance.

EDIT: What bothers me is players use any excuse to be Rude and even try to make other feel bad about themselves for defending it. But, this concept isn't even RL shit ! Most people will not say in person what they say on the internet and make every excuse to defend such actions.
