Why does riot even bother having placement matches.

I would like to have a riot employee explain why we have placement matches if they dont actually place you in the tier you are supposed to be in, being s5 last season, winning all 10 of my placements i get b2, people talking baout mmr and shit, Guys i lost 400 mmr after winning 10 games, So that means while you are in placements your mmr doesnt change?

I feel you bro. Same shit just happened to me. Last year horrible placements matches. Got placed silver4. Didn't really play afterwards. Today I played all my placement matches. Got placed Silver5 with 3 gold borders in loading screen at the last game.

Why don't you have game history?

Um. It is his way literally every season. Your MMR was contracted (as with everyone's) so even if you were s2 last season all that means is jack. They contract your MMR and then you play your games. There is no way you can place back to where you were. Again literally every season they do this.

If you were placed in the tier you were "supposed" to be in, then in theory you would just stay around there for the entire season after playing 10 games. Does that make sense to you?

I think Riot's idea is to start a little (a lot?) below where you were last time (rather than a full hard reset starting from zero) and be able to climb where you belong... and, potentially, beyond.

I didnt put game history, its not that hard to look me up on any site that has this kind of information, as for my poor win rate, that shouldnt tyake into a ccount if there is a new season, i'll explain using sports, every season in sports is a new season, teams dont get ranked on where you finished last season, everyone starts off back to normal 0-0-0 in this case lets use the mmr as 0-0-0, if riot starts everyone on a 1000 mmr lets say and you gain and lose based on your 10 games placement i can see why then you would have 10 games as a placement, in this case that is not whats going on in league of legends, where you start your season off based on your mmr from season previous, and lets say i was a 25-75-0 bases on the fact i has a 25% win rate, or close to that, that means im now starting my season 6 at 250 mmr and see no reason why then you have placement matches, riot is already pre setting you be placed lower then you were last year. and it is impossible for you to styart the same or higher based on this, so my question still stands on why riot even has placements matches and just has everyone start at b5 and just climb the ladder, yes i know you'd have some games where diamonds and plats are playing bronze and silvers but in the end you still have this issue, just you have golds sitting in bronze 1 and plats sitting in silver 1.
