Veigars' stacking is superior

Not sure if this is the right category but here goes.

Veigar and Nasus can both stack infinitely but i just played a game where veigar had about 130 cs and his AP was already over 1k. Now if nasus had 130 cs he would be around 400 stacks (if every cs was stacked which it wouldnt but oh well) if you throw in nasus' AD and rank 5 Q he would do somewhere around 700 on his Q give or take. But thats only his Q that does that dmg. Veigars stacks apply to all of his damaging abilities.

Nasus has a great kit with a huge slow, AOE damage/armor reducing ability plus an awesome ult but everyone knows nasus can be kited if you know what youre doing. With veigar basically if he lands his stun (which is an AOE stun) than he just has to use his point and click ult and land his W and Q and youre deleted. Veigar got a nerf on his stun which put him into the ground but i think his stacks need a little work.

tl:dr veigar can have a significantly less amount of cs and still do insane dmg compared to nasus' stacking.

Side note: I'm bronze and have only been playing league since s4 so im not claiming to know very much about the champions, im more just curious to hear what the community has to say.

Veigar is still a little notorious for having one of the worst early games, similar to Nasus, which is of course the tradeoff to their infinite scaling with stacking. The major difference is that Veigar is a little itty bitty mage and Nasus turns into a big boy as the game goes on. Yes, while Veigar has that potential to absolutely one shot, he is very prone to being jumped on by assassins and getting absolutely murdered.

Mages will almost always have more AP than ADCs will have AD. Part of it is how items work; there are several 120 AP items and Rabadons 30% amp for AP stats, where ADs biggest items stop at 80 AD.

There are a few reasons why this is the case but generally speaking, an individual mages' strength can easily be tweaked or tuned according to their AP ratios. A mage might have anything from a .4 to 1.0+ AP ratio, which gives them a wide range of strength depending on what their ratios are. Generally mages with low base damage but high AP ratios are your late-game AP carries, because their items become extremely potent late game. ADs, however, all (except Kalista) scale the same in terms of their basic attacks. 1 AA = 100% AD all day every day (not factoring crits). So the "range" of AD values are much narrower.

Anyway, this means that its okay that Veigar gets more AP out of his stacks. Nasus does get 3 damage per stack, where Veigar gets 1-5 AP per stack (depending on what he's killing). However all of Nasus' stacks only apply to his Q damage.

This is all stuff you already know but I just wanted to point out some differences. Both of them can "scale infinitely" but they both also have different roles. Nasus can build tank and still do lots of damage along with being durable. Veigar generally becomes a mega glass cannon, dealing out big AoE CC and ruining one person's day very quickly. Nasus generally focuses the enemy ADC (with his Wither's slow) where Veigar focuses the APC due to his ult scaling.

Not sure if any of this is helpful but you didn't really seem to have a specific question ^_^;

They are completely different.

Veigar:

  • Gets 1 AP from last hitting with Q, doubled against large targets. Can hit/last hit up to twice per cast.
  • Gets 1/2/3/4/5 AP from kills/assists on enemy champions.
  • Scales multiplicatively with Rabadon's Cap, AP% bonus mastery, and 1 Dragon kill (41.75%~ before dragon, ~50.25% if Dragon bonus stacks multiplicatively)

Nasus: (1 stack = 3 damage)

  • Gets 1 stack from last hitting, two stacks against large targets. Can hit/last hit only once per cast.
  • Damage only scales with number of stacks.

Veigar is sleeper OP right now. While most players think that not landing his E is detrimental and game breaking for him, you literally just need to group up and box whoever you want to win. Check out my match history with him, hes broken.
