How The New Guinsoos Can Positively, And Negatively Impact The Game

Hello! Today im here to post about the new guinsoos which sounded like a huge nerf to ADC's until I realized this could mean chaos for some other roles...

First lets start off with Yasuo . Reworked Guinsoos base stats are as follows: 50 AD (+24 AD with 6 stacks) and 35% AS (+48% AS with 6 stacks) (Melee champs get 2 stacks a hit, and ranged get the full 6). Since Yasuos Q's CD scales with attack speed, you can imagine the chaos that a Yasuo that can stack guinsoos fully in 3 autos, dashing towards you with a 1.33 second Q and 74 AD at level 7 could cause. Not to mention the 16 magic damage a hit he gets as well.

Now lets move on to Trundle . Since Gbay99 recently posted on why Trundle is so good, he may be used more with guinsoos, and here is why. A trundle who rushed item 3124 then item 1419 will stack Guinsoos in 3 autos, in less then 2 seconds because his Q counts as an auto, so, a trundle that does 4% of your max hp, with 133% atk speed at level 8 or so with 74 AD doing on-hit magic damage, can absolutely destroy the game here

Remember that one champ? Warwick auto, auto Q with a trinity proc, and he has, (along with the trinity force) 123% atk speed and 74 AD, doing an EXTRA 16 magic damage on his passive. this "tank" will be unbelievable if the new guinsoos is built on him since he can stack it in 2 autos and one Q (auto cancel)

Riot, the list just goes on, and on, and on since this item isnt hybrid specific anymore, it can overpower so many melee champs because of the stats that it gives. I mean come on, 16 magic damage on hit?? 2 autos and one auto cancel and its fully stacked??? I'm just pointing things out here, as much fun as it would be to main Yasuo viably, I just cant imagine some champs that can stack it in 2 autos and an ability that counts as an auto (a reset)

I mean, Riot, its your choice if you want to keep Guinsoos like this ^^, but i would recommend removing the 16 on hit damage it gives (it may be 8 magic damage, im not sure on that) or atleast making it so that melee champs just do more damage with it instead of them being able to stack it in less then 2 seconds...

Anyway, this was just my little post on how Idk if this Guinsoos buff is good for the game or not.

Guinsoo's will probably need some follow up. The item's got a lot going on, so it was pretty difficult to be confident in its tuning. Because it's an on-hit item and those historically have been pretty ranged favored, I went in a direction that I thought was pretty aggressively favorable to melee to offset that.

If it's too much, I expect to know pretty quickly, if not from raw performance, then from an enthusiastic player voice.

It's a reasonable item, with reasonable change. And the guy who is complaining about the guinsoos is complaining about its 1st iteration/version with 50AD etc. The latest current one is just fine and reasonable.

Do you remember old sated devourer and why it was removed?

How are you planning to ensure guinsoos won't have the same problems old sated devourer had?

Ahristocats4 votes

old sated devourer had no stacking mechanic and was instant

it also got removed because it promoted AFK jungling playstyle that was Aids for 9 players in the game

Just a random thought: Have you guys considered splitting Rageblade into two items, one for hybrid champs and one for onhit-focused champs?

I think it would make more sense to split it into AD and AP versions. There's really no need for hybrid items in the game.

I did a Leona Build with rageblade rush in a All 4 One and OMG item 3124 item 3146 item 3074 item 3078 item 3156 item 3047

I went Aftershock

Was amazing in my 1v1 1v2 fights and her wave clear was massive. Soloed Dragon, RH. She would stack Rageblade in 2 AA and Q The lifeSteal healing was great

As a M7 yas Id say most yas's would rather have the lifesteal in that slot (or mallet for sticking power and a bit of HP) since once they complete their PD/IE core they have enough damage and their Q is on ~1.6 second cooldown (with any boots but attack speed boots, w/ AS boots it gets to 1.33 already) so he doesnt really need the attack speed that much.

Warwick I'm also mastery 7, and as WW it feels rough to build an item that doesnt have a single tank stat, hell as someone who LOVES building triforce on WW for the sticking power and extra damage from sheen proc its super expensive and I can't see any warwick building an expensive ass item 3124 that adds no HP or defensive stats on top of triforce unless its some cheesy full damage warwick build in normals.

as for people who could have a better time abusing it, i think Jax is a prime candidate, A jax with item 3078 item 3124 item 3111 item 3065 item 3742 item 3143 would be ridiculously hard to kill and could pump out a TON of damage. Also MasterYi w/ item 3153 item 3124 will be absolutely disgusting 2 item powerspike.

wait, lmao, riot literally just changed guinsoos, its 25 AD, 25 AP and 25% AS

I guess they read it lmao

GodlyBane2 votes

also alex, im an m7 Yas main as well, i was thinking as an early powerspike its an easy win in lane to get guinsoos, but they literally just changed it on the pbe,

anyways, yea i was thinking to buy it, then to sell it later on after your 3 core item build (pd, ie, ninja tabi)

Alex h87211 votes

Yeah but even w/ the cost reduction its a lot more expensive than PD, which delays your powerspike, would feel really crappy if you had item 1043 item 1037 but couldn't finish rageblade on that back b/c item 1026 does a hot cup of nothing for yas.

Plus PD's dueling power in lane from the damage reduction IMO is a lot more valuable earlier.

Still tho i think it'll be completely broken on yi as either a 2nd item after BotRK or even as a rush item.

Yeah Warwick has pitifully low base HP, he can't afford buy pure damage items.

Cost went down right? That is honestly the biggest reason I stopped buying it for many champs, but a cheaper Guinsoo might be worth experimenting with.

Ok sure but why1 votes

Well, this is what happens when everyone keeps crying over ADC's

adc's are a pain in the ass tho, i complain too

Yas would be giving up his passive for rageblade rush.

Trundle would be giving up defensive/HP options for rushing it as well.

Same with WW.

I dont see much issue here. Theyre banking on an extremely offensive item with low utility.

Is this thread a joke? Or did you really not inform yourself about the iteration of Guinsoo's that will ship to Live with patch 8.6?

Recipe: item 1037 + item 1052 + item 1043 (3000 gold total)

25 AD, 25 AP, 25% AS 5 + 0.1 bonus AD physical damage on-hit, 5 + 0.1 AP magic damage on-hit

Unique passive: Basic attacks grant +8% Attack Speed, +4% Bonus Attack Damage, and +4% Ability Power for 5 seconds (up to 6 stacks). At max stacks, gain Guinsoo's Rage. For melee champions only, the next attack at 3 stacks will grant max stacks instantly. Guinsoo's Rage: Every other basic attack will trigger on hit effects twice.

So, the item will be much worse as a standalone damage item, but better in builds that pair it with other AD or AP items.

GodlyBane1 votes

this was before they did that, it was just 50 AD (+24 AD) and 35% AS (+48% AS) but they changed the rework into a nerf instead

now its just 25, 25, 25

That iteration you related to in your post was on the PBE for exactly 1 day. Tuesday to Wednesday last week. Since then, we had not only that, but several other Rageblade iterations on the PBE.
