The Curse of the Sad Mummy in the Jungle. (Amumu Jg Discussion)

How is Amumu jg still considered meta? I have literally never seen it work, and I've had annie jg(and other nonmeta junglers) be more helpful as a jungler. They always almost never seem to gank, and have little to no presence the entire game(Meanwhile annie's late game factor works nicely with preventing the enemy from pushing and even forcing the enemy to defend primarily in their base.) So I raise the question, should amumu really be considered useful Jungle meta anymore rendering his role there obsolete. Because in my experience Amumu Junglers always play like their role there is obsolete and are struggling to stay relevant in games. I often find myself begging people to not go amumu jg because deep down I feel like that guarantees our loss. And it is often the same story, their lack of presence ganking makes one of the lanes week and vulnerable and the enemy jungler seized that opportunity and pushes through a lane making that lane lose early. The last time I had seen an amumu jungler unfortunately, I was in this victim lane, the whole game I was signalling the amumu to gank or help in some way and nothing at all, the worst part was their jungler was a Galio and I was an unfortunate tiny master of evil against a very skilled Lux who knew the range game.
