His clear time is horrible I could only do blue and gromp before I had to recall and heal up again mind you I already used my health pots. Ganks are ehhh I mean the only thing you are to the enemy team is just an extra body unless you got full tank runes and I mean full tank you'll easily get shredded. I know he is a tank and all and you cant expect to one shot people and everything but I mean he should be able to at least team fight somewhat instead of using ult and then peacing out cause pretty much after that he done except for his passive which is all right I guess. I know that they have him a tiny buff with his shield but still hes kinda weak I think at one time I read somewhere that he got a nerf. :O my god I would have liked to have seen him before they tweaked him idk maybe its just me but Naut is kinda a jungler they just said ehh. The only thing I see him played now is supp and even that he's ehhh.

Then you did it wrong. You should be able to gromp wolves red blue, although that's risky. Gromp wolves red without that much risk. Use your w 6+ seconds before gromp to get the cd up sooner. Won't argue he needs a buff though.

the only buff he ever needs is a full duration on his W

He actually can first-clear fine. You want a tough first-clear jungle, try Sejuani or Kayle. The key IMO is to grab AS reds and make sure you use the W auto-attack reset feature as best you can. I just tried him on a custom game (fine for practicing jungle I'd think -- especially since no leashes there) and was able to clear all but raptors. Also, 9/21/0 masteries and one health quint helped a lot.

The key is to get a second point into your w at level 3. Also smite grump at the start and then proceed to take blue and wolves after that. You should take nearly no damage at wolves since they hardly take down your shield.

Also naut has massive teamfight presence if played against assassins or bruisers and your adc does not die during their initial burst.

before the nerf he could clear the jungle ezy pzy at level 5 with no damage taken

Naut simply isn't meant to damage UNLESS you build damage, which can be fun but you have to commit to damage otherwise you won't do any of either. And if you're playing a serious game you don't want to be building damage on Naut other than Liandries, Abyssal Scepter, Rylai's, or Rod of Ages, and I rarely see a case to build more than one of these (though never none!).

If you're building to be a tank, you gotta rune up for it, get your masteries in shape, start Gromp to Blue to Wolves or Red then gank or Krugs, then go back. You shouldn't have many problems. Don't level up your E till 4 or if you plan to gank after red, it's not worth the damage they deal to camps compared to a much stronger shield. And use your Q after auto attacks to break their animation and deal some extra damage. If you min max the jungle is a cake walk with Naut. If you don't? Well. Here you are. As for clear times, definitely not the best, but it's acceptable.

Support Naut can be fun though. Especially with a Draven or really anybody who can basically win a fight in 3 auto attacks.
