Nonstop verbal abuses

Its to the point you literally can't say anything about the game without receiving verbal abuse at the end and if it does break out into a verbal match and you respond you get 9 reports instead of 1, hope this is a big change going into next season.

Edit: This isn't only about me, every game you see "pick anything" - "your reported"

It will not change as long as riot perpetuates a negative community. When they stop encouraging witch hunts and provoking people so they can be reported, then maybe.

How do they encourage any of those things? The sidebar's Etiquette/Universal Rules are SPECIFICALLY AGAINST THOSE THINGS.

There are a number of social and psychological principles that apply here but I'll give you the short of it. When someone is constantly told that something is a problem, they begin to believe it, and thus interpret their circumstances through that lens. Kind of like how 2 years ago, most people weren't actively looking for racism because most people thought that it wasn't still a big issue, but now people are looking for racism behind every comment.

So, when Riot constantly reinforces that verbal abuse is a BIG issue, and that anything that can even maybe be taken as negative is worthy of punishment, the community believes it and then looks for verbal abuse behind every line typed. Therefore we are at the point that nearly everything typed in a game, even the most constructive of feedback, is taken as verbal abuse and reported.

Next, when reporting becomes an action that is done in 90% of the games played, it gives the community the impression that everyone they meet in game is probably going to need to be reported. Typically if you expect to hate someone, you will probably find a reason to validate that expectation.

Tl;dr - if you are told there's negativity, and expect negativity, you will find negativity even where it does not exist. this is why 90% of games have multiple reports in them.
