RoA on LB??

so I am trying to learn some new champs, LB being one of them.

now I build RoA on her, as I do with nearly all AP champs. but some people were confused in my game for me building it, so I am here to ask why not build it? it gives, hp, mana, and AP (120 I might add).

Its not bad if you are in a losing match up and dont have much hope in roaming for kills. But ultimately its bad because its a passive item that doesn't give her CDR. LB likes to snowball, and RoA delays that.

The way her damages are, you want to optimize damage and spell pen. Her goal is burst you, and then get out. Sort of like Zed. RoA is a good item for some AP plus some tankiness, but I would argue you want more damage. You want to get to the point that if someone is like at 75 percent HP you just delete them. Plus she can e? (I don't play her) out. Not saying that ensures survival but it increases survivability if you position and execute correctly. I'm basically saying in her kit there is an escape, which lowers the incentive to build a little tanky.

If you want evidence, just watch an LCS match. Straight damage, no resistances. In fact, some mid laners that go against LB actually don't do magic resist runes simply because with LB's damage, it really doesn't matter.

most LCS I see play corki mid nowadays :P but yea I do watch and it's interesting point. going more for quick damage instead of damage in the long game I guess?

You want to deal as much damage as quickly as possible with LB.

Typically leblanc needs to hit a power spike decently early to give her the ability to carry. Leblanc is all about bursting someone down in one quick combo. RoA is a pretty delayed power spike...it does the opposite of what you typically want on her. It also doesnt give any cdr. It takes too long to ramp up. Leblanc needs as much damage as she can possibly get, very quickly. The sooner she can start one shotting people the harder she can carry. RoA is great on anyone once its fully stacked, but until that point you dont get enough out of it on some champs...like leblanc or fizz. It can work under the right circumstances but i wouldnt suggest doing it very often

even at no stacks RoA gives 80 AP, so is the real reason just no CDR?

I think that if you find the build really works for you, then it doesn't matter what other players think is correct. But it is always a good idea to look at what the really good players build and at least see if that better for you.

I see what others build, most usually rush Morellonorniocn (sp) first. I was trying to understand why. Morellon is 80 AP, 20 CDR and some mana regen. RoA is 300 health, 80 AP, and 300 mana with no stacks, 120 AP at full stacks.

so even at no stacks they have the same amount of power on them (other than the passive on Morellon) so I guess it's just cause of the 20 CDR?

Hey, actually the others explained it well, LeBlanc needs early powerspikes. Also Tankiness is not really necessary on her except health per level-runes, Abyssal Scepter (which is extremely awesome right now) and Zhonyas. Morellos is since the change very gold efficient, which allows her to get more damage very early. Also you have manareg, a solid passive and a lot of cdr. The cdr is the most important on her. I and a lot of other LB-Players do use cdr per lvl-Glyphs to get a maximum of 35% cdr on lvl18. The goal is to have your mimic as often as possible because it offers you waveclear/mobility/outplay potential (w+r), strong poke (q+r) and kiting abilities (e+r). On 40% cdr you can get 14.4 sec cd on your r. Trust me, this is worth it

I usually get Scepter right after RoA because both are kind of scalers (the 750 mana thing). mathematically they give the best AP once you scale them up.

most I know usually rush item 3165 first. it has 80 AP, and RoA has 80 AP at 0 stacks, 120 AP at full stacks. so is CDR just that important on LB? if so than I guess I can understand

the 750 mana thing is the tear and has nothing to do with the abyssal scepter O.o the possible items for LeBlanc are: item 3165 item 3020 item 3158 item 3089 item 3285 item 3001 item 3157 item 3100 item 3135 everyting else (I hope I did not miss anything) is not effective on LeBlanc. And yes, as I said. The cdr is extremely important. You can dash more often, you get your ultimate more often. And the chains are probably also worth it.

PS.: I got more than 200 games with her and I am effective. I am not a high elo player, but I definetely know how to play her :D
