Late-Game Gold?

After you have your entire build and you've got your consumable, gold just starts racking up in your inventory. I mean, it sort of mocks me after I recall looking for a new item, then to see that I have all 6 items plus consumable, so I can't buy anything. The 2000 something gold just stares at me like 'yeah, I'm useless'. Maybe add something you can fortify towers with? A temporary tower shield item you can give to your current inhib turrets, or turn the nexus turrets into lazers again for around 5 minutes? Something that has to do with towers maybe, because I feel like the innermost turrets are non-existent by 65 minutes and they're directing the minion waves at your nexus and melting your turrets- even as the Ahri autos flick at your turrets, they're melting like putty beneath the damage of the tiny sparks. I think it would be a nice addition to add, maybe you'd have to decide between a tower buff and a Wrath Elixir?

Though the idea is probably still half-baked and I really just want to do something with that 4000 gold sitting pretty in my inventory in a 98:40 long game.

I see your point, but that'd make comebacks even harder. When a team starts losing, they can wait until everyone's at full build and be back at equal opportunity. Your way would decrease the chance of a late game comeback even more

I dont think adding new late game items to league would be worth putting the time into. Most ranked games I play only last an average of 35 minutes (Gold 4). At this point I only have about 3.5 late game items. So what im trying to say is it would just be a waste of time to implement items like that :P.
