Why are people saying Sejuani is weak?

I love playing Sej for many reasons and I don't feel she's weak at all right now. If anything he's really powerful. So far all of my games with her have been me caring and the enemy left in confusion of what's even going on. I've actually thought of not playing her since because I'd be breaking my rule of playing extremely powerful champions.

Personally I think the people complained about her weakest are those who jumped on that bandwagon a few months ago. After Riot took out DGF and changed her kit so it'd be harder to play Mid Sej I was pretty hurt by it but still loved the champion. I hated people only using her for the pick of the month deal and was glad when it calmed down.

As of right now I believe Jungle Cinderhulk or Hypertank Top Sej to be the most powerful Tank in the game. With powerful CC at a seconds notice, BEEF, and not too shabby mobility, she deserves the title without being a crazy stomping monster.

Great against an AD team with mild CC and only gotten better since that's the description of many adcs and they've been getting played all over the place.

In this secion of boards if a tank or mage is not overpowered pick or ban status then they are weak trash that needs buffs

Personally I say she's weak because I've played her and found her to be so. Honestly, if you want a scaling engage-tank Zac has better early ganks, better jungle clears, and more reliable engage lategame. Other than that, Sejuani's early pressure is almost non-existent. Playing jungle and putting out 0 early pressure against a GOOD jungler playing something like Lee Sin or even Vi you will have a really hard time winning games. Her bad early game used to be acceptable since her late was so strong, but with her damage being nerfed so much, she's pretty much just a fat tank with a good ult lategame, and even Amumu has that.

Also, tanks that aren't broken like Malphite and Mundo aren't really the best picks for soloq because of how often your team will just sit back while you engage and let you die. We may not like to admit it, but champions that can make plays on their own like Lee and Kindred are just better for carrying.

LeeSin kills her 10 times in the jungle before she can gank at least once.

She's not even within the realm of being strong right now. They nerfed her a little too harshly but whatever.

What makes her weak? Are you sure those nerfs were to keep her controlled or to throw her into the dirt?

She is weaker than some of the other tank junglers right now for a few reasons. Her ganks are worse than Nautilus and Rammus (the other heavy cc tanks) and her clear speed is on the bottom end of all junglers. She has low mobility and will often be counterjungled hard early on. The enemy team will often pick a Lee Sin or Shyvana if they see a Sejuani on the other side to do just that. The only cooldown items are MR items or non health armor items which are not ideal for her kit in this heavy AD meta. Plus the games in the preseason have been significantly shorter so late game champions in general are not hitting their power spikes as often as they used to. I think she is weaker than the other champions that fulfill the same role but not by a lot. If they increased her w damage to 8 from the 6 percent I think she would be in the right spot.

Personally I'd say change it from 6% enemy HP to 6% of Sej's HP+ a small bonus VS monsters. (since monsters have more HP than Sej early)

I think that Sej should be a champ who becomes considerably more powerful as she stacks HP, not as her enemies do.

Because people are still comparing her to broken 5.5 Sejuani. It's really that simple. She's still pretty strong but not completely broken like she was during the Cinderhulk patch so she feels weak by comparison. Also, a lot of them are still building item 3110 when they really should be building item 3025 instead. IBG is an absurdly strong item on her and I'm surprised no one else seems to have figured it out yet.

I agree with all of this. Again, I really feel like the people complain that she is trash tier are just those who hopped on the pick of the month bandwagon.

Because she was weak before the pre-season changes, so nothing could've possibly changed that.

The issue is that they didn't want a high-CC tank to have such power. Yes, her having a little bit is fine (especially % against other tanks), but she does her job just fine. I'd say she's in a good spot right now, but she isn't exactly fit for the meta of 20-min games.

I havn't had too much of a problem with short games but t's been said to me so much that it has to be somewhat true. To those having that issue of games being so short, I can see how she wouldn't appear to be all to powerful since most tanks don't come out until mid game.

The only tanks who can hang early are the OP ones like Tahm and Mundo who just are unfair in terms of damage. Then again, classification dictates that Mundo is more of a bruiser anyway since he has one slow for CC... However, tanks right now who are hanging strong in the fast meta are those who have steroids to make them tanky like Rammus, Amumu, etc. They naturally are tankier early game due to their passives or actives. Sejuani to some extent has something to help her out in the form of her passive, but she's too team-based with her devastating teamfight tools. 1v1s and 2v2s aren't exactly her forte.

She's not weak, she's just not retarded OP like most of the other champions since Riot decided to ruin their game and mix things up for preseason.

I think compared to most champs she doesn't have a lot of CC outside of her ult, where as most "modern"/newer ones that where reworked or released have tons of CC

Knalxz1 votes

What do you mean, she has a Knockup and a perma slow besides her ult.

LankPants1 votes

Sej is just weaker than Amumu.

That means that there's actually no reason to play her because Amumu just does everything she does better.

Knalxz1 votes

While Amumu does more damage Sej is far safer. If Amumu goes in there is nothing he can do to get out. He's a one direction champion and that direction is forward.

While ahead I can see him before more useful, but I'll give the general award to Sej.

While Amumu does more damage Sej is far safer.

Generally speaking safety's fairly unimportant for Sej and Amumu's archtype.

If Amumu goes into a fight and deals X damage then dies he's contributing more than a Sej who goes into a fight and deals 0.75X damage and escapes.

I love playing Sej

I'm going to call that into question considering you only have a single Sej game played in the past month and don't seem to play her at all in ranked.

Knalxz1 votes

An Amumu who get's invaded is almost assured death. He has no way to get out unless there's living jungle monsters, same if he were to ever get caught out, he needs living threats to get out alive and also if he's being overwhelmed and needs to leave he has to burn his ult which on it's own requires him to be right in front of the enemy.

When Amumu lands a good ult, he's surrounded, when Sej Sejuani land a good ult it can even be done when's she's not even in the fight.

Also what? Just because I don't main a champion it doesn't mean I don't love everything about them. I have a game as Tyrnd support as well, I love playing it but I don't main Trynd support. Not to mention I spend most of my League play on the PBE, mainly because everyone's more friendly there and the cooler stuff comes out alot sooner. Our feedback is generally ignored, sadly.

Amumu only does more damage and has one AOE CC ability which all together throws him to harshly into the enemy. If there's no follow up for X reason he's dead. Sej can do the samething from afar but without her own skin being risked. Not to mention that if the enemy is clustered in the Jungle she can land a 5 man knock up, followed by her ult and a perma slow with AOE damage to everyone in the area.

Sigh, let's take a look... http://www.lolskill.net/summoner/NA/Knalxz

You do not understand mechanics because you are bronze level. Sejuani is viable when you are not facing real opposition... but when your opponents are competent, Sejuani is a terrible choice. She needs buffs, badly.
