How to fix ALL ranked, Aram, 3's, and normal 5's games. Just for you Riot...
I found that when something doesn't go my way, in any game, I want to tell the person who I believe could have helped me, what is on my mind. More often than not, they will be insults. But because of the moment the rage that things didn't go my way, all i can think of is to RAGE. Now when i rage, there will be someone who might want to defend, what's the best way to defend against a rager? Either A) let it go B) act sarcastically or C)rage back. Because most people have pride and they might notice they DID do something wrong, they'll react to this action. So long as this rage goes on, each comment on ALL CHAT will take about 3 seconds max. If you announce about 100 messages full of rage, you'll spend about 300 seconds thinking about and typing about a particular incident.
NOW, if you take away ALL CHAT and keep smart pings, those 4 minutes will be spent thinking about what to do next. Since you can't announce how you feel in the game, you'll be left with two options. Rage and scream at home where no one in the game will know or be drawn to thinking about that incident, or start thinking about what just happened and how to avoid it.
Taking away ALL CHAT may inhibit some good comm skills. But as long as you ward dragon, and buffs...the TIMER keeps track of it which adds an element of tactics. Plus, those 4 minutes spent raging will be spent on farming and playing from behind. No one will know how the other may feel, and if they do they will spend ALOT less time thinking about that mistake and move forward. Plus since you hate emotes, you can still add a spark of competition by taunting the enemy. Drop dat disrespect....
About smart pings, i suggest adding a vote for baron, vote for dragon, with a very small window having Y or N. That window should probably be somewhat transparent as well. Something along the lines of adding more smart pings a bit of restriction, but no more ALL CHAT.
I know this because in my first game today, i barely came on got my first game of the day. And i banned sion....I saw ONE guy RAGE for banning sion....he didn't even pick him in the preselect. Started insulting me etc etc....then the rest of the team blamed me for tilting the team. That i did it on purpose because i played with them last game and it got deleted and yadda yadda yadda, Beginning of the game, what could have been a lost game because of that, we all decided to mute each other. We won that game, and though we may have made mistakes...because WE muted each other it didn't affect our mood. We kept moving forward, while the enemy teams xin raged...blamed his people. His people felt that and thought about that. Felt bad or mad and thought about what to do to make him mad or how to retort. Wanted to report his teammates etc....This really shows the difference ALL CHAT has in games...and how it makes or breaks depending on how you use it. Just saying
Remove ALL CHAT, do not DO VOICE CHAT. Just use SMART PINGS. Add some more options for smart pings. People WILL become better wether they want to or not. It will force them to keep track of timers, keep track of enemy team jg or members. Etc etc...Please think about this as it will be a HUGE benefit to the community. Allow CHAT ONLY at the end, and in the beginning allow a mutual disband option. Where if you want to play a certain champion and no one else wants you to....there should be a 3/5 win to mutually disband. NO CHAT....because your dynamic q has preselect...this should be a good way to let people have a voice, without the extra useless garbage that sometimes comes out of their (OR MY) Mouth....
