riot REMOVING dragons gold rewards is bad for the game

riot i felt a very exciting strategy portion of the game in competitive was seeing teams trade dragon gold for tower gold and play the map in different ways

with the first few kills of dragon providing very little stats, and its very hard to balance it to have it be something other than gold, basically dragon sucks now

dragon should just be balanced to give gold riot. its better for the game

by removing dragons gold reward, you are heavily REDUCING the strategic excitement of the game in competitive

you are REDUCING the strategy choices teams have to play the map for gold . making less overall strategy play options for competitive games

BAD FOR THE GAME RIOT

DO NOT REMOVE DRAGON GOLD REWARDS

It will go from trading tower for Dragon to always fighting at tower or Dragon. The dragon stacks will add up eventually so the teams will still want them I think. They should really reduce the triple to double though on stack 5, and make each of the earlier stacks 50% better to make it a more meaningful reward for early kills. Otherwise people will just ignore it as a senseless risk.

Lol teams trading dragon for a tower was exciting?

It was just a reactionary move, and was at the point where you just expect it. If you got a dragon and the other team didn't take an objective, you just essentialy start winning from that point on, bar one person feeding really badly.

Gold in this game can only be translated to stats with the exception of wards.

New dragon gives stats instead of gold.

I don't see a problem.

Have you played the PBE? Dragon provides some decent stats, especially for split push comps.

That's a pretty hardline post to make without providing any real evidence. We haven't seen any pro play with the new drag yet, so I wouldn't go there if I were you. I actually think reduced emphasis on early game dragons would be great for pro play, since it would open up more junglers besides early game powerhouses like Lee Sin. For the same reason you say it's bad (less incentive for dragon early), I say it's great.
