Issue with "potential fix" for ranked

I finished last preseason and this season at Gold V. I went into this promo and finished 7 wins and 3 losses and was placed at Silver II. I understand there was an issue with ranked and that today there was a potential fix that was about that requires everyone to play one extra game.

I finished that game just now and won! I even got S+ with Taric ,which I'm happy about, but I got placed into Silver V. I'm seeing that this is a common occurrence where regardless of win or loss, people are getting thrown farther down than where they were placed. My brother placed P4 last season and G3 in his promos and now he is Bronze 4.

I'm no software developer, but I think this "potential fix" needs to be looked at. I get the argument "well if you are so low, then it should be easy for you", but the way I look at it is that becomes unnecessary work. And if everyone is getting placed even lower, then it just means you will be having more Plat and Gold players in Bronze or Silver,which doesn't make climbing any easier. With all the disagreement with the implementation of Flex Queue, I think this fix might drive some away and that's something I don't want to see.

I understand where you're coming from Plastic, but like he said, for Plats to be in Bronze? That's ridiculous. In my case, I was very fortunate in my Placements. I won 6/4 and got placed in Silver IV after ending Season 6 in SV. But now, I'm in Bronze V after that one re-placement match. This is complete and utter bullshit. I got placed close to where I ended last season. I was even climbing. I played 24 matches after the 10 placements and most of them were wins. My MMR was even raising because I went from gaining about 13-15 LP to getting 19-22. So you can't tell me that there isn't a problem with this "potential fix". It's a complete and utter nightmare for a lot of players.

Most of the time in ranked, your placements will put your a league lower then your last seasons' rank. Sorry mate :C
