My elo matchups is strange AF

I don't understand how riot fricking pairs us up with other players. I'm gold 3 and I get put in games with High Gold and low plats and then I get games where I get paired with high silvers low gold. (No I don't que up with any friends) Riot if you don't mind please pair me up with the higher elo. I tend to have a more successful game (regardless winning or losing) with higher elo players than lower elo players. It's mind blowing the range of the elo I get paired up with when I play rank.
