Hello Meddler, I want to talk to you about my favorite champion aatrox. My name is Solaris17 I am an aatrox main I have over 670k mastery points on the champion (second highest in na) and reached diamond 4 last season only playing him.

I'ver read allot of your post and I'm worried that you believe that the reason aatrox is doing bad right now or is unpopular is because he's boring to play or not unique. I'm also worried that a lot of the people you discuss aatrox with don't have a proper understanding of him, and haven't really explored him. So I want to give you the perspective of someone who truly lives and breathes for this champ. First aatrox as a champ is a diver/fighter. He's a great duelist who excellent at long drawn out exchanges, due to his sustain. Thus normally he would be great for top lane, but right now he's not.

He has a bunch of built in weaknesses (which is healthy for the game) but not if hes left in such a abysmally weak state. First he needs to auto att to sustain back up and to do smg, thus he is easily kitted by adds who have movement. Second he is extremely vulnerable to being cc'ed and busted especially since he is so fragile due to his super low base he and resist. Third his Q has an extremely long cool down and is easily interrupted. It also functions as both his engage and escape. So if he uses it to go in he cannot go out. Fourth he is really bad vs att. Speed slow like randy insurance and frozen heart. Fithian he gets countered really hard by grevious wounds, that thanks to executioners calling it is an 800 gold buy and a thanks to morrelos, a lot of approximately midst have it. Sith he auto pushes his lane because he needs to sustain his dmg back on with minions, often being very susceptible to ganks. And finally he has PERCENT HEALTH COST on his skills, making them do more dmg and causing him not to be able to build HP which scales horribly with him. Rigthe now he's in a terrible spot he losses to almost every match up and he needs to snowball, MAINLY BECAUSE if he doesn't do anything his late game is really bad.

I IMPLORE YOU Meddler. Please give him a buff, he already has all these built in weaknesses and no he won't go out of controlling like many of you think.(obviously depending on the size of the buff) especially due to his horrible late game. He's in such a bad state and IRELIA one of his WORST match ups and Xin both received buffs recently, aatrox is a diverse as well in a horrible place, please consider giving him a buff at least temporarily until you decide what to eventually do with him

Please split your text into paragraphs, it's incredibly hard to read it like it is right now. From what I've read I agree with you though, Aatrox's towerdiving potential is very unique and fun.

Yes what I really enjoy about aatrox is that you are constantly on the brink of death, sustaining at really low health, works best vs tanks that can't do much dmg, not atm, because tanks have way too much free sustain base dmg and tankiness, also whittling people down and then tower diving them with your passive is extremely fun on aatrox as well as switching between "w" and being able to quickly into a fight while you have your passive suicide and have you teammates clean up

I would either give back his attention speed on his passive, so he has a clear strength in the early game with a CLEAR weakness in the late game, but he can at least have the tools to attempt to snowball before people lol and out scale him, or improve his late game mainly his hp% cost on his skills so he can actually buy health and transition into more of a tankier peeler late game, and he won't be as snowball relient

You can also change his scalling on his skills to not be magic dmg, so that items like deaths dance will actually synergies on him, at this moment they don't because his skills do magic dmg and they scale of ap. Warlords is also not as great as people believe, he can't safely use it (not from range) and already has massive sustain. Fervor is much better
