Lissandra build path, 40% cdr interest?

Hi,

I'm trying to play a bit more Lissandra as I think she's in a rather good spot right now with her ult and her w being excellent skills to catch people off-guard and punish their mistakes heavilly.

However, i have been struggling to find the best build path. I know this is highly situational but I'd like to know what is in your opinion the best items to build on her. For example, is morellonomicon worth to take over roa (since morello gives cdr with means more opportunity to catch people) or should you take both or none?

I have been watching lcs and I know that pros often start abyssal against an ap because you often benefit from its passive as lissandra but then their build path change a lot and I'd like to understand the reasoning behind it.

Thanks

RoA is almost always better unless you need the grievous wounds for something like a Mundo or Volibear, and you shouldn't ever need both unless you are really bad at managing your mana.

As for a 40% CDR build, I'd honestly say it's overkill. She already has very spammable skills and tends to do better with extra AP instead of extra CDR.

The reason you see pros change their items every game is that you should never have a "build" that you always follow. Item builds are dynamic and should reflect the game you are currently playing, not an optimized theory crafted build.

As a general rule of thumb, find a set of items that work well with your champ and synergize together and then use that broad set of choices to pick from for your current game's needs.

Nomicon's regen is based on base mana. Lissandra's base mana regen isn't exactly great so I prefer roa for the base mana and added tankiness since she often ends up in the thick of things. For the cdr I just have a rune page with scaling cdr quints and blues for 30% and grab cdr boots but if you want that cdr asap then you'll want flat cdr quints and blues to get 10% right there and later grab 30% from morellos or athenes as well as cdr boots. Try each out and see what's best for you.
