Suggestion: Why do you require Lock in?

I understand its just one button....press lock in....takes 1 second to click....1 click

but it is incredibly frustrating specifically for a player that barely plays league of legends to adjust to this change. Instalocking/locking is never something I do nor do most players do, therefore I do not understand the necessity to press lock in before the timer expires, cant you just go with whatever you picked? I did not press lock in twice, and i just wanted to play ONE game before I head on to study, now I have to wait 5 + 15 minutes 20 minutes. I dont really care for the wait, I started studying in that time.

I realize there are alot of posts regarding this, and I just wanted to continue bringing this issue to attention. A lot of friends that play have complained about it before I saw the new changes, can there be a petition to not have to lock in before the timer expires and it locks in whatever you have like the old system? Would really appreciate it, I'm sure a lot of people would. Please riot.

They did this to attempt to reduce queue times, and I think it's working pretty well.

Although I do agree, this has been brought up on the boards hundreds of times already and I have no doubt that Riot has no interest in changing this back.
