Why Yorick is a slightly weaker version of Nasus

VivaLaKitten··2 votes·1,334 views

Yorick's Q, next attack does increased damage and heals Yorick slightly Nasus' Q, next attack does increased damage scaling with ad and stacks, and heals for 15% damage dealt thanks to Nasus' passive

Yorick's W, a 2 hit kill wall that doesn't last very long, is often hard to land, and isn't that big Nasus' W, a point and click slow that pretty much just makes the enemy champion stop moving for a few seconds

Yorick's E, a ap scaling ability that you can toss out with a delay, not sure it scales too well with ap but it's definitely half the size of . . . Nasus' E, a ap scaling ability that you can toss out with a small delay, it scales very well with ap, and lasts even after you cast it

Yorick's R, summons the Maiden and some ghouls to attack the enemy minions or champions, but cannot command them on who to attack UNLESS you land your E, which is often difficult do to a cast range that's quite low, and a small delay The Maiden doesn't really do much instant damage causing it to often be useless in laning skirmishes, and by late game anyone can solo her if she's split pushing a lane However she can split push a lane better than a Zzrot portal

Nasus' R, get some health, do more damage, have a ap scaling aoe damage ability surround you

In this way, Yorick is just a less reliable, harder to play version of Nasus the only thing Yorick has over Nasus, are early lane skirmishes with someone LIKE Nasus, where Yorick can summon some ghouls and toss them onto the enemy, if the E hits that is . . .

How does this even make sense to you?

Stop comparing Yorick to Nasus.

They are nothing alike.

did you even read the thread? did you literally even read the thread?

Q next attack does more damage W a slow / wall E a AP scaling aoe effect

the only major difference is the passive and ult the rest of his kit is a toned down version of what Nasus does

ModWulf Helhammer2 votes

If you reduce any champions abilities to incredibly basic archetypes, most of them are going to be incredibly similar

VivaLaKitten1 votes

Well shame on me for trying am'I'right? for shame I dare try such a thing, for shame

I hate my ADC3 votes

Yes, I read the thread. You are comparing two very different champions.

Yorick whole concept is to split push while being with his team thanks to his ult. Nasus whole concept is to farm for mid game in order to serve as a frontline bully for his team.

They are nothing alike.

Nasus & Yorick are the same?

You forget that Yorick's W can still trap more than one person similar to a J4 ult. Now, demonstrate me how you can slow at least 3 people with your slow. Come on, go on. Show me.

minion mancing splitpusher based around setting up a space to fight in and kill the enemy with an onslaught of minions is being compared to the infinite scaling doge.

what

All this work in to a thread and more "you're an idiot for attempting to compare two champions" comments how dare I try something like this, well guess the forums have no room for logical thinking, thanks everybody for being positive!

No, you're not an idiot for comparing two champions.

You are acting like one by saying the two champions are the same when they really couldn't be much more different. Also by downvoting anyone who disagrees with you.

whatever, I'm done with the forums, make a post get downvoted to hell and degraded in the comments for attempting to talk about something on a GAME

should have known since people don't care how others feel

Youre comparing a mango to a peach. Anyone who actually knows the difference will tell you that the two are completely different with the only similarities being that theyre fruit and have pits.

VivaLaKitten1 votes

if you read the post you responded to, you would know I was just trying to make a comparison, have some fun, try something unique

but then I get degraded, constantly for no reason whatsoever besides the fact that . . . I tried I tried to talk about something about a game, and that apparently is worth all the degrading people are giving me

You have to understand that you were basically bashing on a champion even if you didn't mean to and people who think otherwise will disagree with you, whether you meant to bash or not. Disagreements are usually said in downvotes and, honestly, downvotes don't matter. Or upvotes.

better to bash on a human than a video game champion I guess don't want to hurt the champion's feelings

youre a special little snowflake, clearly.

Look, I have a headache the size of god damn Jupier right now so listen. People have passion for a game. they arent bashing you, they just disagree with what you said. the league community is just very passionate about their mains

This paragraph here takes it from a "fun little comparison" to a critique on balance, basically calling Yorick useless because somehow Nasus does what the Sheperd does better

VivaLaKitten1 votes

because when I say "slightly weaker" and "less reliable" I clearly mean useless and even though I tried to stop talking about the whole thing just so you would all stop attacking me you insist on proving "how wrong I was" and shoving it down my throat

With all due respect, just because you've put effort into the comparison doesn't mean people with agree with you. That's in general, not just this. Try not to take it personally or get upset if people disagree, it'll do you no good.

Meep Man1 votes

The difference is Nasus doesn't have 4 Mist Walkers to kill people and doesn't have the base stats that Yorick has. Also, the W comparison is kind of weak.

Paroe1 votes

If yorick is a weaker nasus, what does that make malzahar?

Because malzahar is a much weaker yorick...

2 different kits. Why did you even try to compare? lol

Listen mate I am not here to flame you but as a Nasus main the similarities between Yorick and Nasus stop at the Q. They feel very similar as both are used as an execute and AA resent. Yorick even has a type of stacking with graves which he can proc to use as extra minions.

The rest of your comparisons don't really jive as similarities but seem more of a reach for comparison. If anything Yorick would probably more resemble Illaoi in regards to they are both a type of zone control Juggernauts and bully with a type of minion but again that would also be a shallow comparison as there is not much more related, in their kits, than that. Illaoi isn't the best split pusher and work better in team fights. New Yorick can push a tower down extremely fast but may not be the best at team fighting if he doesn't have any graves to summon from.

Nasus has a very simplistic but strong functionality kit. His whole kit is built around his Q. Wither allows you to chase and deal damage with Q. Spirit Fire let's you reduce beefy targets armor so you can do damage with your Q. Fury of the Sands does % health damge and gives you size AA range and Health so you can last in a fight and do damage with your Q.

Yorick summons minions to harass, he doesn't scale infinitely and his kit is focused on keeping pressure with his ghouls to out push a lane enemy. Nasus want's to farm passively and only push after he's got around 250-350 stacks.

I get what you are trying to do but in reality they are not that comparable and honesty Yorick actually could succeed as a split pusher where Nasus rarely can in the current meta.
