S+ Soraka (Grading System Info)
I decided to go Soraka top just for fun. ended with an S+.
although I will say laning against a yas is annoying though. supports do get S+'s!

Soraka is a champion, not necessarily a support. Usually she is played in the support role, but here she was a top laner (and hence graded compared to other top lane sorakas, not as a soraka support). Supports certainly do get S+'s sometimes, it's just this thread isn't an example of that.
I think you do understand how grading works based on some of your other replies, but a lot of people have the wrong idea about how grading works (e.g. people think since most sorakas are played support and hence don't get much cs, your grade was good since you got a lot of cs relative to supports, but this is false since you aren't being compared to support raka at all), and this sort of thread probably won't help that.
Still, getting good grades does tend to require you to be either quite good at the champion, or quite good at the role, ideally both. In supports case, I feel like a lot of people are just bad at the role, since they oversimplfy it and/or try to play it like carry roles, and that's why support people seem to have a hard time getting S ranks there. Personally when I go about getting my weekly chest, I generally do use the support role since I'm a support main, and it rarely takes me more than a handful games to get an S grade on whatever champion I've decided to get an S rank on. I've got my share of conventional support S+ ranks while support, as well as a host of S ranks as support using less conventional supports.
Basically if you're really good at a champ, you can take it to an unconventional role and probably do 'ok' with it, and that 'ok' performance will probably be better than the majority of other people using that champ in that unconventional role (as theres often a reason the role is unconventional so low standards). Meanwhile if you're really good at a role, you can take almost any champion into that role, and churn out an S rank even if you aren't really utilizing the full potential of the champion. If you happen to be good at both the champion and the role, it's not unreasonable to consistently get S ranks of some variety (I main janna in particular, and almost always get at least an S- in my ranked games).
Apparently people in gold 5 don't know how to cs any better than bronzies.

if you are talking about me, I would say 267 CS for soraka in 40 min is pretty good, I mean I was top lane so I should have more, but soraka isn't exactly the best at CS/last hitting. if I was playing an actual top lane I am sure my CS would be been quite better
if you mean my team mates. they were not gold 5
I mean everyone on both teams sans the Yasuo. I guess the junglers did a little better..

every one either team was below silver 3 I believe. (except me) why was I matched with them, idk.
its SO much easier to get S on the support role than it is on any other role.

I wouldn't agree or disagree, I just see most people complain about supports having hard times getting in on the forums. I play mostly top/jungle so that's what I get my S's on

Part of my understanding is that champion grade, is based on the champion itself.
The fact that you took a Support Top lane, probably put you in the higher range of Raka's average CS, as she usually is played as a support.

you would be right, it's based on both the champ itself and the lane the champ goes to. so going top soraka already puts me high on the list, as it's a rather uncommon place for soraka to go. I don't have to perform nearly as good as and I would still get a decent grade since the number of soraka tops are low to 0
Since the support grading changes its been harder in my experience going something like 0/1/22 as soraka

hey I supported alot there! don't know how many times I clutch saved Azir from death
Yes you can get an s as support. I have a volibear support game where I died only once or twice and I got an s-. I just helped with kills.
